Take him to the Ancient City in Samut Prakan. It is a huge place where they have built copies of temples, ruins and other important buildings from all over the country.
And when you are there, it is not far away from the crocodile farm.

Only about 30km from Bangkok, so it isnt so far away.

Ayutthaya i think is about 150-200km north of Bkk. Takes about 2 hours to go there,... Never been there, but people say it is beutiful. I know there are busses that goes there, just ask at the hotel...Or rent a cab. Shouldnt cost to much..

I was suprised how close it was to BKK! But i was a bit dissapointed that there was no way to get back by boat to BKK

I stayed in a clean, modern guesthouse with my Teerak for 400 bath!

Very nice, but as usual, if you have seen the first 2 ruins the rest is same-same, but different!

From the airport it did not even take me an hour, with taxi! In the afternoon a tuk-tuk, take me to the summer-palace of the King (I was a bit dissapointed by that) and from there 1 h 20 to be in the center of BKK. I did all this in 1 day and a half!

ETV,
You can definitely visit Ayuthaya as a day trip from Bangkok, try this link for that (and other options)

I personally like the trip to Kanchanaburi, but I guess it's just horses for courses!!!
Cheers,
