Any reports in of damage at Laguna resort?
Has anyone heard how much damage was caused at Laguna Resort? Laguna faces the Andaman sea, just like Patong, and would have suffered the same sort of damage Patong beach did.
Laguna Phuket Resort consists of five luxury resort hotels spread along three kilometres of sandy white beach at Bang Tao Bay on Phuket’s north-west coast.

I have tried to call, but phone lines are always busy.

This is unbelieveable. I just got back from Thailand 3 weeks ago. I was in Patong during the loy krathong festival. I even saw Nicke walking on bangla road with his gf. The news is very depressing. I feel really bad to see all the damages that will affect the locals and the tourists. I hope phuket will recover soon. I plan to visit phuket again next year.
Sorry my pictures are a bit off topic. I thought looking at the before the tidal wave pictures could cheer people up, especially myself who loves phuket very much. The pictures are from my recent trip in Nov 2004.

its really bad here and i cannot see anything improving for at least 3-4 days.the carnage down the front end is so bad itn looks like a war zone.

Steve, apparently consular services will be coming to the island to assist with passort issues etc..
One more reason why I NEVER leave my passport unless I have a spare..

The third picture is KataNoi, standing near the beach entry of KataThani hotel. The fourth could be the bungalows in the hills at the end of KataNoi, but I am not sure

maybe phone lines do not work, because the reception area was swapped out on the street by the water. Tried the same at KataThani

I feel incredibly sad when i turn on the news and see the place which is in my heart totally devasted, at this moment i still feel like it hasn't quite sunk in yet so i can't even imagine what it musg be like for everybody over there.
I feel bad for you guys right now, you are supposed to having the time of your lives and now it has been ruined by this unforseen natural disaster.
I wish you all well and hope you can all somehow get on with enjoying your holiday time .....all the best ..BB

kamala Beach
I have friends who own Thai Kamala Village Resort. I have seen scant pictures of the beach head around the area, but nothing inland. There is no commentary about their hotel in any of the Phuket sites. If anyone knows the condition of their place, please let know. Thanks
Chris

Patong Beach damage
Hi LivinLOS - some powerful photos in and around Patong - any idea on the state of the Impaina Phuket Cabana on the beach at Patong?
I used to work there and has spoken to the manageress but not seen any photos of that particular area of the beach road.
Thanks

Kamala
Thanks for the pics from Patong.....I got the bad news/good news from my friends at Thai Kamala Village. They are alive, but the hotel isn't. Not surprised, as I heard that Kamala got hit hard. Great people, and it teaches one that life can be cruel sometimes. Oh well, time to open the wallet, spend a little on them, instead of a nice ticket back to Thailand. Best of luck to the residents in and aroyund Phuket, Krabi, Phi-Phi.

Hi Cross,
Glad to know your friends from Thai Kamala Village are ok ... some people had not the same chance in Kamala.
A BG fromkamala told me today that the restautrants, the small school, the hotels in the village were "finished" ... but nothing is finished for always in Thailand. Now she is still shocked and I am so sure life will go on there too, it is a so nice place to live or stay for some days.

Missing Friends
Does anyone know if Meg and Wan are o.k. They worked at the Dolphin Bar on Prachanukhro Road? LivinLOS, the bar was just behind the buses in your photos on Page 6 - you mentioned that was your mates bar? Would appreciate any word.....

I am sad for all people dead there... In thaïland and other countries affected by the tsunami.
My thoughts go to all injuried people and those who lost relatives. I hope everything is ok for you all and that the life will come again!
Good luck to all the people there! I hope everything is going to be ok and a big thanks to all the people supporting aid in devastated countries!
