Pictures of the Tsunami carnage
I have hosted a bunch of pics over on the Soi Easy gallery..
Tidal wave damage
Hopefully Mai Tai is not too badly hit (and Play School etc) Tiger looked like it was messy but not badly damaged so G and SLeesy should be ok but that was the first surge.. I hear another is due or hit already..

Thanks for pics LOS. As I wrote on another thread I was at BKK airport waiting for a flight to Phuket-Patong when they canceled my flight. Initially, I had hopes of trying again tomorrow, but your pics have made me realize--no way! I'm really bummed that I won't see my friends at Captain
Kirk's etc.

Excellent pics of the damage on Beach Road and Bangla sois, LivinLOS. Thank you. Very graphically depicts the situation there.
Your pics are getting a lot of looks. When I went online there were 4 other people online there and I was the second person to view the pics. By the time I got off, there were 90 people online and most pics had over 30 views!

I have no word to say what I feel when I see that. I tried to call my girlfriend who is living in Phuket Town and had to take the bus at 7.30 am to go to work in a hotel close the airport, but she doesn't answer. Just hope she can't use her phone at work and she is ok, but I worry so much.
I also hope that all BM's are ok and I want to wish good luck to all the bar or shop owners who have a lot of work to continue their business.
Cho Dee, mates !

I understand what your going thru Domi. My wife is constantly trying to phone to friends and family, most of them are fine but at the moment there are still two people we can not reach and they live at the beachside.

Trip cancelled
Sorry Guys, my trip is cancelled.
My plane was near the Thai border today when we were forced to turn back as Phuket airport was closed. The quake and tsunamis occured when my plane was in the air.....I was lucky in that my flight was delayed for more than 1 hr.
Heard about the devastation...hope all the BMs over there are alright.

Thanks Beuk. I just reached my gf and she is ok. I can breathe now.
I really hope the two people you are trying to reach are safe too.
I have also some friends in Kamala, living close to the beach. Does someone know if Kamala has been damaged too?
It is so bd and so sad. I would like to be there now and bring some help to those who need it.

Hi Mlay,
That's just awful for your friend to see the dead victims, gives me an idea of how much power was in that wave on hearing of the speedboat blown all the way to Soi Saynamyen.
I hope the bm's can report here soon as they can to let us know they are safe and well.
Also shocking to hear about Phi phi as i had my 1st visit there last tour and the island is sheer beauty, I also liked a lady out there from England who worked at one of the PADI dive centres, I hope to god she is ok.

Any further news about Phi Phi anyone? I was booked into the Charlie Beach resort for Wednesday morning... this news of the tsunami doesn't look good and if what you say, "2 hotels standing"... gees... Sounds simply horrific! Looks like I'll have to cancel.
It is sad to hear that so many have died... I just don't have the right words right now for this tragedy...
