I am OK
I met Geir and Ozskin before and they are OK, me and Jonas went to take photos and I will upload a bunch of pictures very soon. I also got SMS from ETV and he is OK, Mike and Marc26 escaped out of Patong I think.
So I guess most of us are OK so far.
The whole situation is unbeliavable. Me and Jonas run for out lives when we were looking around around Sawatdirak road late this afternoon, a big group of people were running towards us from the beach and screaming so me and Jonas run as quickly we could up to Salathai resort and went up some floors. We were lucky, it was false alarm but I was scared as hell.
I post my photos soon, I am resizing them now.

Looks very bad. Looking at sky news they say the death toll so far is over 4000 people. They say in Phuket is around 200 dead.
Hope you guys are ok and will recover. Most of the people I know like Par where in Bangkok thank god.

I was inside soi seapearl when the people came running up Sawatdirak. My girlfriend wanted to join them, but I convinced her to run with me up the stairs on the shorttime hotel inside seapearl. No way I wanted to run in a street that goes all the way down to the beach. Thank god it was false alarm, but it made me kind of shaky for a moment.
BTW, Robert is also ok (Utherman)

I contacted my girlfriend this morning. She stays in Phichit and is safe but her sister was on way to Koh Phi Phi with her swedish boyfriend and for the moment she has no news from them.
I watched CNN and the said that 248 people died in Thailand and 1000 were missing.
Chiang Mai was also hitted by the quake which seems absolutely unbelievable!
I planned to go to the island next month but I think that I'll cancel my trip.
Regards,
Bobby

Well if I can, I will NOT cancel my trip in March! Not to be egoistic, but for the people who need business in these bad times, worse is to cancel your trip!
By then the sun will be there, some things will look sad, but I think, knowing the Thai autorities, things will be cleaned up, much faster as we can imagine now! So, wait a while before canceling, it would make things worse for people there!
Just check out if your hotel did not suffer too much and if it can still be running! For Phi phi islands, I am afraid that the situation is much worse!!!

I'm supposed to be landing in Phuket on New Year's Eve. I don't want to cancel of course, but it seems pretty unlikely I'll have any choice in the matter. Of course, compared to what people must be going through on the ground, me not getting a nice holiday is of little consequence. Hope everyone's OK.

If you mean the bar at the end of the beach Rd on the southern side then that bar is currently under a bus..

Phew! Thank god you all are OK.
My plane was delayed by 1 hr. 10 min and once we passed Penang, we were asked to turn back to KL as Phuket airport was closed due to earthquake. I were supposed to land at 10.55 a.m. at Phuket International airport.

LivinLOS and Nicke's pics are the witnesses of the desolation that Phuket knows today. These pics speak more than what we can see on CNN.
Thank you for posting.
I think that, till now, we receive only good news from the BM's in Phuket. Let's hope it will be good news for everybody.

Thanks Nicke for keeping this board running and thus keeping us informed about the situation. I think that it's the first time that there are so many people online at the same time.
My first reaction when I hearded that at the radio this morning was to call my girfriend and send a sms to Nicke. I was glad to hear that both of them were ok.
Thanks again to all members for this great demonstration of solidarity.
Keep hope...

My girl is ok, her room near Bangla was under water, told me she nearly died, wanted to go out with car, but too much traffic and bumps, therefore she sleeps now in car this night. Told me it is very hot, misses shower (no water in room), think, tomorrow it will be better and she can clean room.
