You are absolutely right Marc, same thing is being said by health experts on all the news channels.

Apparently in many affected areas there is simply not enough rescue workers to deal with the high amounts of bodies, also many that are still trapped under debris or out to sea.

If it was me out there right now, I don't think i would return straight home like many have but i would certainly get myself out of areas which may become infected. I would be thinking about getting to Chiang mai or somewhere else right now.

I sincerely hope that any of the bm's can somehow try to enjoy their holiday after this terrible disaster in any way they can, but please don't put yourselves at risks.
For the expats, this kind of situation is so much harder as they will have to leave their business behind.
I wish all of you out there the best of luck from the bottom of my heart.

i wrote this warning, but i am here, and although paton is devastated on beach rd, i dont think it had the body count that other places has. the authorities have been pretty quick getting down there and cleaning and searchin. i just wanted to make people aware of some of the risks. i am leaving today for a little while, but will be back

My drinking water comes normally in bottles. No ice please and no crushed ice please. When you are on the road, only drink from bottles, or coconut or eat fruit. Meals should be well cooked. Stay away from the ponds and swamps, stay in the beach area.
