my trip question | cambodia.

Hey,

I will be in Thailand next Summer and am interested in visiting Cambodia preferably by flying. I have been on the Thai air website and the cheapest return flight I could get was 226 euro? thats an insane amount of money for such a short journey. Has anyone got any experience on travelling from thailand to cambodia? What is the cheapest and quickest option, im pretty sure there has to be flights for alot less money.

Also does anyone know the blues bar im Samui? (lamai) It is owned by a lovely man called Noi that does paintings, I would love to know if he is still there because I would like to visit him again.

Hopefully Phi Phi will be up and running by June so I can go visit the lovely Island again. I will also be visiting phuket for my first time this trip I couldnt fit it into my last visit to Thailand.

Regards,

Mark.

Travel to Cambodia - Cost?

Its the present monopoly or governmental taxes or fees imposed thats making air travel to Cambodia very expensive.
From Singapore I can get return tickets to Bangkok for as low as US$60 return with 1 nite stay plus transfers BUT for my trip to Siem Reap in Cambodia last month, it cost me US$400 and thats w/o transfers nor rooms. Not forgetting US$20 for visa on arrival and if Angkor Wat is yr cup of tea, then its US$20 for 1 day or US$40 for 3 day passes.
Alternatively you can go the overland route "adventure" from Khao Sun Road where you take a bus to Siem Reap. But rest assured you will want to tell us about your adventure after you have tried it. Thats aprx US$20 and 16 hours of bus journey with about 4 hours of rodeo ride experience in a bus or open air rear of truck or a taxi. Read up on this and share with us your EXPERIENCES. Goos Luck!
Best of all is of course once you get there, its all worth the effort (slurp....).
Do a search in the net and you will get all the travel tales told by others.
