I personally prefer lamai because its more relaxed than Chewang during the day and also has a good night life not to mention Chewang is only a short journey away also, I recommend staying in the bill resort they are lovely beach huts.

Hey,

I will be here in Dublin on paddys day I wont be going back to Los until June 14th.

Here is some info on the bill resort http://www.sawadee.com/samui/billresort/review/

Is there anywhere in Thailand that celebrates St.Paddys day?

West side of Island is very very quiet. Nothing doing. Just a couple of 5* hotels (1 very nice 1 if you want to really impress a TG)

Always stayed in Chaweng & never quite made it to Lamai.

Chaweng is much more quiet than Phuket and more laid back. Quite like it, especially if you can follow-up with a stint in Phuket or BKK.
