Travel Books on Thailand

I was wondering if fellow board members could recommend any good read on the subject of traveling in Thailand and/or Southeast Asia. Travel books like The Great Railway Bazaar or The Kingdom by the Sea by Paul Theroux are what I’m looking for. More of a journal than a guide book. Thks.

Interesting travel journals are few and far between in my experience. I have been looking around for a good one on Thailand, but haven't found one yet. I usually end up buying books on mountaineering and polar-expeditions instead...
"Two years on the Yangtze river" is a good one on China though. And try "Off the rails in Phnom Penh" if you want an interesting read on Cambodia.

I have looked and also failed to find what I was looking for. However there is a chapter in the Great Railway Bazaar by Paul Theroux on Thailand and neighbouring countries, although it was written in the 70's, nevertheless it was a rather good read on train travels.
