It's at phang nga, and you are not allowed to spend the night there.
*It's realy nothing special* except some rocks in water. However the whole landscape is and there is a place over there where you can rent canoes, do this it's very nice.

IMHO James Bond Island is just a commercialised detour on a day spent sea-kayaking. Spent a great day canoeing through limestone tunnels and coming out in hidden lagoons, really quite awesome.

I went but wouldn't go back again, there's not much to see but it's nice to have a picture of yourself standing in front of the famous rock !!

James Bond island is interesting to see but the trip there and back is really worthwhile doing. If your gonna go make sure you get a package tour - The last one I went on had an elephant safari(cool), Muslim fishing ivillage island and rafting as well as James Biond Island. The landscape and water during the trip are great.
Just remember to tip the tour guide when they bring you back to a tourist trap so they give you the first mini bus available back to your hotel.
Its worth it
BTW james Bond Island is not very big lah...

I took the tour with Sim's Tour and it was okay. The tour guide's English was a little difficult to understand but he was knowledgable and fun to have.
One thing I didn't like was just before you get on the boat as you depart to the island, they took your picture without asking you and on the way back they would try to sell you a ceramic cup with your picture on it.
But maybe I shouldn't complain as this is what I should have expected from being a tourist on a tour.

You can buy a day tour from any travel agency,
and for first visit it is recommendable (not a crap IMHO).
I recommend to take a chance to see Sea Gypsies (muslims) village on the sea, quite close to James Bond Island.
First visit is fun, and many photos taken by
but I don't recommend second visit either...

Yes, I remeber that bit - hilarious! Decided to take tilak, but it was an early start and forgot tilak is not a morning person! After getting on a minibus full of german tourists, who frowned upon sharing the minibus with a BG, we arrived at the boat terminal, and as we waded out to the boats had our photo's snapped! WAAAH she was not ready for that one!
Got back after a long day in the sun enjoying ourselves to find a hilarious photo of me, looking forward to an day out of fun and her looking like something woken from the arms of Morpheus!
Oh how she hated that photo! One of my treasured possessions!!!

On our trip to Phi Phi, everyone was lined up at the harbour before boarding and the photos were taken. As it was our first trip,we believed the guy when he said it was for insurance purposes. Then arriving back at Phuket boat lagoon,we all waited in the office for the mini bus back to Patong and were shown the photo which was on a souvenier plaque, and given the chance to buy it for 150bht. Another little ruse to get more money from the tourist, but a nice keepsake.Every county does some kind of scam like this and Thailand is no different. Its not like its a load of money either.
I think I will try the James Bond island tour this trip. Im sure Phi Phi wont be worth visiting yet.Off the top of your head, does anyone know the rough cost for JB island trip.I paid 1600bht pp for Phi Phi and thought it was good value.

Me and my mate got one of them plaque's each but in all honestly I did not think it was any type of scam, They dont push them on you, When we got back nobody even mentioned them to us, I just noticed them on a table when I was leaving and me and my mate bought one each for 100bt, But we didnt have too, So to me thats not what I would call a scam.
I didnt make it to JB islands last time but I will this tour hopefully if all goes well, The trip I went on they stoped at a lot of other islands(I cant even remember the names of) before we were left off in phi phi don for the night, And then we got one of them longboats over to phi phi lee I think(where the bars are) and had a great time, I paid 2000bt pp but I also thought it was well worth it, When they picked us up the next day they brought us to another little island where we spent about 2hrs before dropping us off back at the hotel, It was well worth it

I did an afternoon tour think it was with "sims" also
james bond island really not worth it but most tours in this area go there (seemed to be over ran by jap tourists)
muslim village was interesting and fried rice was great.
also the sunset was quite spectatular.
the natural beauty of this area is awesome IMHO
