I do agree with you that Dubai,along with Abu Dhabi are the only MEastern cities I could consider living in.BTW do you base your opinion on one visit 4 years ago,if so you need to go again.

Hi BMs,
for my happiness I have seen these amazing places (Dubai, Sharjah...?) few times only, when Finnair charter planes from Helsinki made short stop for continuing flight to LOS, Phuket Airport. But I confirm my 100% agree with Dawsey point of opinion, seeing these Arab airports , sorry  Now Finnair stops in India - not so big change from Emirates Gold Shining to India Holy Cow culture

I think it is fine to say you don't like the way of living there. But don't start a debate about it, because I prefer one about bg's and Thailand!
I don't think though, that it is fine to talk about a people to be "hypocrits " etc! They have been brought up differentely, they way of thinking thru ages is is quite strict! Our liberate way of thinking do shock some, although there are sinners like in every country against the rules! I think evry kind of people live in their country as they want, up to us to think if it is appealing enough or not!

Ha..ha ... in my early days in the hotelbusiness, I used to get good tips for sneaking in bottles of whisky in the rooms of our valuabled muslim guests. I didn't care much if they were hypocrit or not.

There are like hypocrits are everywhere! In protestant, catholic, you can have only one woman! Most of the guys I know, have more then one, at least if I count the non-official ones!
!And I DO know muslims, who don't drink and keep to the rules of their religion...I But as long we respect every way of thinking in a certain way, that is different then ours, if no bad intention is meant, that should be fine!
