To all smokers - BKK airport

Hi all fellow smokers - non-smokers can quite reading here

I had heard of an outdoor place in BKK intl. airport - but never the actual location.

This time I stumbled over it by accident (luck).

It is located in a Bar JUST OPPERSITE OF THE ENTRACE TO GATES 31-36

behind glass doors - walk in and inside look through the room - there it is - outsite smooking area with bar tables and service.

Just buy a coke or beer, and sit there and you can smoke all you want.

What a releaf from the small overcrowded - underventilated cubicles in the transit area.

I hope this help other fellow smokers

I stopped smoking for about half a year without a problem. I questioned myself why some people found it so hard to stop as I did it without any problem. This was 2 years ago till I made that irresponsible decission under the influence of alcohol to light up one more for old times sake. Also knowing I could give up this filthy habbit so easy and it would not hurt me.

You guessed right ..... NOT ....... since that day I have been smoking like 'tingtong' again. The last month I am thinking to give it another shot though. However my mind is trying to convince me smoking is not that bad at all. It keeps telling me why should I deny myself those moments when drinking a cup of coffee in the morning, lighting one after dinner or having one when socializing in a bar.

One of the reasons I wanted to quit, is because of those glass cubes at the airport. When I stand there, not even enjoying my sigarette, looking through the window having trouble to breathe. I always think to myself, what an addict you are.

Now you tell me the airport has a nice teracce outside with barstools and beer. Thanks for your support

I was almost there.

How about the barber shop on the 2nd floor of in int. departure area I told you about? Did you try it?

Anyone else tried it? I've heard about it and saw it last time but I have never tested it.

But still amazing an international airport have these services available.

Barber shop as in chinese-style barber shop?!?
I've heard rumors of people getting the final touch from the massage girls upstairs, but I haven't tried it myself.

I dont know if this is chinese style or not, but there are lot of them in lot of cities in Thailand including Phuket City. The difference from normal barber shops is that the windows may have a curtain or similalar and the girls may wear a short skirt and look more sexy.

Well, chinese style is basically several sexy ladies, but only one comb and one bottle of shampoo.... Whatever you do, don't ask for a haircut!

I gave up cigarettes for seven years and one day at work,I smelt someone smoking a cigar.I thought it smelt lovely and if I had one it wouldn't hurt!!!
Wrong. That was 13yrs ago and I dread to think the cash I have spunked on cigars since then.Last year in LOS I made a decision to give up and didn't even bother to get any "duty free" smokes on my way home. Well I arrived home about 5 30pm with one left and got panicky about running out and bought some more.I'm still smoking and its getting to the point where I have got to give up.Its costing me £1500 a year and its just stupid.
I think I'll try again after this next trip to LOS in March

Funny you should mention these things. I didn't get any duty frees either on my last trip and I also keep telling myself one more trip and then I will stop.

What is it with us smokers? Each year, we just light two return tickets to LOS into smoke.

By the way I'm out of smokes now, you think the petrolstation is still open?

I think you got it right in your first post.We are hopeless addicts. Every time I get a cold or sore throat I still puff away even though I dont enjoy it.We must be mad. I think you and I will have to set a date to pack in.
BTW There is always a 24hr garage for smokers

21 hours without a sigarette now. Could think of many reasons to give up today already, but still going strong.

How long does it take before the cravings are gone?

They gradually get less and less ,it's all physcological it only takes 3 days to get rid of all the nicotine in your body the third day is usually the worst just hang in there it will feel a bit strange for a while.

Thanks KJ02/ info for aussie dollar

Great news about the smoking room, last time in transit at BKK after a 12 hr flight, after one look into that prison cell they call a smoking room I thought, even I dont want a smoke that bad and was prepared to wait another three hours to my final destination.
Aussie dollar, yes they have smoking rooms at KLIA on in international departures and one in domestic. They are both airside. Glass walled rooms with television and vending machines (I think they are sponsered by Phillip Morris. All in all they are quite pleasant and certainly well ventilated.I have certainly spent time in worse places in an airport, smoking or non smoking.

Hey Dawsey,

To answer your question .... hmmm ..... not bad ..... not bad at all.

Ha ha ha ha .... I think the coin fell. I was curious as well, that's why I asked you the same question a couple of days ago about the cigars.

Well since that night I haven't smoked another sigarette. The cravings are still sometimes there, but are becoming less. I do know if I smoke one now, I will be smoking a pack within a few days again.

Thanks for the little push in the right direction back then. You didn't do much, but it did help me.

P.S. The biggest test is still to come. A holiday to LOS.
