Phuket

Hey everyone, I stumbled across this board while looking around for hotels and figured I would make a quick post. I'm from California and I'm coming back to Phuket for the first time in 5 long years and I'm bringing my best friend and his girlfriend with me, as well as another buddy too. My friends are all concerned as to the state of Patong beach after the tsunami, but I wanted to come anyways and I convinced them to do the same. I'm really hoping I didn't make the wrong decision...

We have reservations for two weeks in April at the Orchid Residence which I've never stayed at before. I hope its a nice clean place since we are bringing a female with us, and you all know how women can be about cleanliness.

Can't wait to get back to the land of smiles!

Welcome xsquid99,
When you get to Patong, you will see that everything will be pretty the same as last time you went, albeit a few new bars and buildings etc, but most of the main places will be in the same spot, and you will quite quickly become familiar with the place again. As for the state of the beach/patong, the pics are looking really good, you could actually say the beach looks somewhat cleaner than before

I's sure you and your friends will have a great time.... after al it is LOS isn't it, kinda hard not too!!!
