Question mozzie bites ???

i've made well over a hundred tours to thailand now and something i've noticed is that i very rarely get bitten by mosquitos anymore , whereas in earlier tours i,ve been attacked almost for the complete duration of each trip , it,s not that i take precautions , sprays etc , in fact i don't apply anything , on my last trip i only received a total 2 bites in 2 weeks , both during the same day and these were gone in 30 minutes.
anyone else noticed this...or is it just me!!!

I didnt get any bites when I was there but my mate was getting lashed out of it with them, And the funny thing is we were together all the time we were there, Except of course when we fell back to the hotels in the early hours with BGs in tow Thankfully he is coming again in april so hopefully they will feast on him and stay away from me

There is no ryhme or reason as to why mozzies go for one person or another. Scientists think it may be to do with food you eat, and the sweat you give off.

Mozzies are supposed to be able to home in on you from a long way away.

I am the human equivalent of Big Mac and fries when I go to Thailand.

The little bastards love me.

I was once in Holland, and I was sharing a hotel room with my friend (who now lives in thailand and still doesnt get bit by mozzies) and we had the window open. I got 30 bites on my back in ONE night and he didnt get any !

The little shits had to actually fly over him to get to me !

I have tried all sorts.

The only thing that i can recommend is to keep covered up as night time falls. I try to wear jeans or trousers with socks and shoes.

One day a lot of my stuff was at the laundry, and i had trousers, a shirt and shoes on , but no socks. I got 15 bites around the ankles !

Mozzies will be the scourge of man.
Malaria is still the biggest killer in the world, and mozzies are enduring harsher conditions such as the cold.

Cool

I don't usually suffer at all from the dreaded Mozzie, but occasionally I have been attacked and couldn't put my finger on it, but after seeing what Mike wrote, I tend to remember a couple of times in similar conditions, i.e. long trousers with no socks. Maybe it's a just coincidence ??

I'm a feast to the buggers

Always get bitten and I'm allergic to the rascals too, have no problem with their norwegian relatives but the thai and turkish mosquito really make an inpact

I do however get bitten everywhere though, just how I react to the bites that differ.

My x-mas tour I had no bites before the wave and didn't take any Zyrtech as I usually do, after the wave I was one big happy meal to them...go figure

Zyrtech does help though but you need to be taking it before you get bitten/exposed and keep on taking them, for those that don't know Zyrtech has an added benefit, you do not get hangovers..

Nevermind that, I very rarely get hangovers anyway but it is nice to avoid those big bumps from mosquito bites

Vitamin B12 (giant horse pills of yeasty stuff).. They make your piss stink and presumably do the same for your blood.. They do however really work, its like taking internal deet..

Used to take em in Africa, could have done with them in Alaska (more mossies than I have ever seen.. Turned the sky dark.. Bastard blackfly literally trying to drink the moisture out of the corner of your eyes.. People can die through blood loss and caribu etc can loos pints to the buggers !!! They get huge too !! Locally known as the Alaskan state bird !!

My father and myself dont get bitten by mozzies
read a report about 10 years ago that a proportion of anglo saxon people
have blood which doesnt suit or has a natural anti body which mozzies arent attracted too.
cant quote where this was written but is true

I read or heard somewhere that tonic water contains quinine in small quantities. Before and during my last visit gin and tonic became part of my daily diet and I didn't get bitten at all. They're usually all over me - so are the mossies!

I can see the photos in my mind now

You , bar girl , and Rover all in bed smoking a cigarette after the wild sex

You will be licking the bar girl, and Rover will be licking your bum

I knew you were a sick man
