Is it amusing or is just some kind of sign?? LOS is the place we all enjoy our time in several ways and most of all having sex with those sweet TGs and I some times wonder if it is some kind of punishment that a greater force is sending to this country..an invisible hand that says "STOP IT" and try to develop in other ways..dunno..I will be going there once more but I don't know if all these fatalities are amusing..

I have to agree with GR Fantom, I don't particularily find much to laugh about a T- shirt with that slogan.Perhaps the designer thought death in Thailand was amusing

When originally on sale in Phuket, proceeds were going to charity.

I see it more as a statement about carrying on in the face of adversity.

Personally I am none too keen on seeing these either... Same goes for Tsunami pictures and VCD's and DVD's on sale.. It would ease the situation if I thought there was some charity donation going on but really its just quick buck profiteering..

TShirtHell (or TShirt*****s cant remember I buy from both of them) had a "I surfed the Tsunami' Shirt made a few days after the incedent..

In consideration

Not having seen the picture, I don't know if the message on the shirt is intended to be humorous or not. If it is intended to be humorous then it is in very poor taste indeed. However, as Coolhand suggests, I feel inclined to view it as a sympathy vote. The message may be "Hey guys, spare a thought for the misfortunes of this region and give them all the support you can."

But then, a lot depends on the nature of the picture.

I agree with LivinLos that souvenir images of the devastation caused by the tsunami are morbid and insensitive.

Hi Guys

Got back to patong about 3hrs ago from Chiang Mai (really nice place)....

Anyway there was anther shirt going around..is said.... I Survived Tsunami...

How the F@#K do they think anyone will even think of buying these shirts, i guess they will get the message after they realise no one is buying them...Even if you where there you have to respect the families who lost loved one's there... I REALLY HOPE NO ONE IS BUYING THEM

Now ignoring the shirts i'm going to make the most of my last week in PATONG...

I also saw and had a hard time not reacting to 'osama' and twin towers T shirts for sale and being worn.. The Tsunami probably touches a bit fo a nerve but I do like the sick homour of Tshirtwh0res and tshirthell.. I have a few from TShirtHell including the 'Once you go Asian...' thats my sig and I support single moms and probably 20 or so from TShirtwh0res.. Maybee I am just a sick **** with a bad sense of humour but I get a lot of good reactions from comedy T's..

One of the most offensive things I could imageing ever seeing was a Thai wearing a T with HUGE writing loudly proclaiming

JESUS
IS A
****

I think you would have to work hard to get more offensive than that..

i think its all relative, and agree that its just showing people the world carries on after bad things. i also think there must be a lot of hipocrites around, all you lot who got so offended by these things dont tell me you havent ever laughed at a bad taste joke or even made one. some of the things you may find funny others would find offensive. just think about it its all tongue in cheek

Guess that makes me a hypocrite then liam.Sure I laugh at bad taste jokes and yes I've made them. There is however a line that shouldn't be crossed. ie 9/11 and tsunami. Maybe it is just that Phuket is carrying on after all the bad that has gone on before.Just not my taste though. We all have an opinion and thats mine.

There is a difference... Its one thing to take the p1ss out of someone personally.. Make a joke at a persons minor expense.. Give someone a minor ribbing on a 1:1 nature...

IMHO it become evry different to laugh at tragedy (why I dont see anything funny about 9/11 T's or Tsunami T's I guess) you try standing next to a buddy of mine who lost his girl / wife with an 'I survived the Tsunami' and see how funny that is.. Laughing at tragedy is not the same to me as laughing at off colour jokes.

alright i get the point it was an awful tragedy and i was in patong when it happened so seen first hand the effect it had on people, but just think all of you who have ever made jokes about hitler and the third reich. what these people done was a lot worse than the tsunami. just putting it in perspective. i would never wear one of these t-shirts and just too add a little point the days following the tsunami me and some friends were cleaning up a friends bar in soi eric and the street and cant remember seeing many bm's there.

What do you want? A fukcing cake or?
I know that alot of BM`s helped Nicke in MTB, but not anyone of them post it here. It is nothing that they feel they have to bragg about. They did it to help, not to have something to bragg about when they come home or to "show how good they are"...
