Phuket - DVD players to rent in Patong? Please help.

Dear All

My first post, so hello to everyone.

I'm heading for Patong from Penang tomorrow morning (5am, yuck!) and at the moment am trying to sort out accommodation.

I've bought a few films here in Malaysia and also a couple of tv series boxsets and would love to watch them and make sure they work fine too before I lug them all over Thailand.

In case I end up at a hotel that can't provide a dvd player, does anyone know of any places in Patong Beach area that will rent them out to you?

And also, can you get dvds/cds in Patong too?

Hi Toni,

Copy DVDs are for sale on street for about 100 baht/each. I dont know of any place who rent out DVD players but since they are so cheap these days I suggest you buy one, you can find for around 2000 baht. You can always give it to a girl when you leave and make her happy.

I doubt I'll be meeting any girls but could always give it to the hotel if I do decide to just buy one.

Didn't like to point that out. Have got so used to the whole 'You're a girl, you can't be called Toni' here in SE Asia I kind of just brush over it!

Hello Toni,

Last summer I had a room in The Orchid Residence, a nice guest friendly hotel at Soi Sansabai. There was a DVD-player in my room (in summer the room price is about 700 Bt). Make sure you ask if they provid a player before you take the room, I don't know if every room has one.
