Sorry to waste a thread on such a small topic guys but what is Phuket like in May June. I know it will be raining a fair bit but is there still a few people around and activities going on?

Last year I went in May and actually the weather was ok, you can strike good or bad but you'll definately get some fine days usually pretty quiet which I don't mind the disco's are still busy later on plenty of action to be had.

Aye last year may/june was very hot and rained a little. Was also quite busy with people. Seemed busier than when I was there in Decemember.
Am also going back this year in May.

Thanks for the input fellas. Another one for ya.. On average its about $1000 Aus for flights, taxes, transfers, brekkie and 10 nights accomodation (last time was Horizon Bech Rsort which I thought was quite good beside the guest fee of 1500 baht). Probab looking at staying 2 weeks to a month this time and was wondering where a good place to stay is. Doest have to be fancy but want a pool, air con, good location and small or no guest fee. Any ideas on this and associated costs. Was thinking about just getting the package deal and maybe extending that once over there..not sure...thoughts?

My advise is don't get the package the hotels aren't always guest friendly just book the flight and if you need transfer from BKK use Air Asia online booking very cheap then just book your hotel.
There is plenty of threads on hotels on this site just do a search.

Mav,Still have thai girl but want to take a mate to Thailand in the mean time. Asking about guest friendly more for mate and in case thai gf meets me in Phuket at all (shes from Nrth Thailand).
River, the problem being that the package deals are usually only a couple hundred more thant the flight itself so might be worth taking this as is probab cheaper then look for alternate hotel to extend my stay. Flights from Perth go direct to Phuket so dont need Air Asia via BKK.

If you don't need guest friendly then no problem but the hotels aren't that expensive eg. C&N 600 bht low season it may have gone up not sure but between 600-800bht per night for hotel so say 700 x 14 it's about $325 AUS for 2 weeks but if they charge joiner 1000 - 1500 as some do it can add up.
Plus you are guaranteed a big bed if you book the hotel yourself, some packages will give you two single beds and say that is the package and you won't find out until you arrive otherwise you pay more.
Personally I don't like them but it's up to the individual I don't much like travel agents either because I've been shafted before on hotels and so called deals.

I'm tipping she will down to meet you in Phuket soon as your foot hits the tarmac.

She will be horrified to hear that you are in patong.....she will be down there at the speed of light....and will be accusing you of going with other women (possibly will correct as well She will probably want to see your passport to see how long you have been in the country, then look for signs in your room to see if you have had women in there.......empty condom packs, shower cap missing or used, she might ask reception if you have taken girls back etc..........she will accuse you of being a butterfly.......and of course she will lose face with her friends, even more so if one of them spots you in Patong (they have very good memories) and rings her up to tell her that you are back in Patong and she does not know............hmmmm.....should be a very interesting trip........good luck
