held outside of patong? I am going to go and watch a genuine bout rather than the staged promotion in Patong. Not that the one in Patong is bad but keen to see the real thing. I think it is held in Phuket Town every friday, anyone have details appreciate it.

And thanks to all you guys that have posted about Christins in three trips I havn't indulged but will do for sure next time and report back. They won't laugh when I am naked will they??

Thai Boxing matches are held every Friday night at the Boxing stadium in Phuket town. dont remember street name but i try
to finde a map and put it on the bord if i do

Good Info Stingo! that will be a five minute tuk tuk from Grand Palace Massage....Near the rear of Grand Palace Hotel from the Car Park next to Robinsons..You'll see the sign.....

We paid a little extra for ringside seats (middle price), very close to the action. Half the time the people in the boxers corner got in the way and the view was blocked.

If i go again, i will pay the cheaper price and get the grandstand seating around the ring, its not much further away, (maybe 5-10 metres) and a bit higher up, so i think you will get a better view of things.

Also all the thai people sit in the grandstand, and scream and shout for the fighters so i think the atmosphere is better in the stands also.

When i was in BKK i went to the proper stadium,we paid to go in with the Thai people at the back and not the tourist ring side seats,and i have to say it was amazing ,they sit through the first round with out saying a word,come the second and third all hell is let lose and they are betting and screaming like mad ,so i would recomend you go with the locals and enjoy the real Thai experience.
