side trips whilst at Phuket
Hi,
I'm coming to Patong next month for a few days and I'm wanting to do a few day trips, can someone please answer the following:-
1. Are Phi-Phi and Phang nga bay worth visiting?
2. Would I be better to pre-book trips via the internet or are there plenty of places in Patong where I can book day trips? - how do the prices compare?
3. If booking by internet is the preferred option, I'm considering using www.asia-discovery.com - has anybody used them - how was the service?

PiPi and Pang nga are worth a visit, but I don't know how the situation on PiPi is now.
Best trip I found seacanoe (or seakayak).
Make also trip around the Island (hire a car eventually).
You will find more than enough travellagencies selling this trips, even in your hotel. I don't know how their prices are compared to internet but I suspect they will be cheaper.

Go to MTB the first thing you do the first night, talk to the other BM`s that are there and you will get 1000 suggestions on daytrips worth doing.

dont plan too much
Jellybean
I am not sure how old you are or what your plans are but here are my thoughts, before arriving in phuket i had all sorts of plans, including renting a harley, fishing, diving, james bond island and loads more, i have just finished my trip and all i did from my list was fishing and renting a CBR400, i had all the good intentions of doing everything but i really do not regret not doing it, i had loads of fun doing nothing but drinking and relaxing.
i am sure you will enjoy whatever you do

This is partly the reason for me posting the question, The last time I was in LOS I went there with the best laid plans, and they went right out the window,so this time I want to leave the holiday as flexible as possible, but having said that I don't want to either find I can't do what I want because the trips are full or I can't book locally AND I don't want to pay over the odds when it could be avoided by booking ahead.
Cheers

If you're going in May then you will have no problems with tours booked out.

Went on the James Bond afternoon trip last week. The rock itself is a huge disappointment, but the tour itself was good.Beware very aggresive souvenier sellers at James Bond island, avoid them at all costs.Expect to pay 650baht for the "Sims" afternoon tour
