My hates are:
Tuk Tuk drivers
The creeps selling suits
Being ripped off because you are a farang
Ting tong chinese blocking the pavement taking their stupid photos
Police closing the bars early
Being laughed at by the same people everyday and getting called farang-lao when you eat Lao / Isaan food

Those people on Bangla Road holding iguanas, parrots and all sorts of exotic animals trying to put said animals on your shoulder. Luckily didn't see any this year.

Grrrrrrrrrr.
Tuk tuks. I never ever use them. I'd sooner walk home in the rain than pay their rip off prices.
People who walk around Bangla etc. with a bottle of beer in their hands.
( Probably bought from 7-11.)
Two tier pricing. Especially when it's official, ie. national parks. I notice the new aquarium is to have this policy.
Scruffy falang around the bars. . Surely it's not too difficult to dress up a little in the evening.
Tourists who walk around with no top on. What's even worse are the twats who walk around in their bathing gear. Ughhhh.

Err that will be me then! But i dont buy from 7/11 though, as i can never be bothered to walk that far!
The thing which really annoyed me, on top of the usual suit pimps, tut tuts and the people pushing animals into your face. Is the tourists who walk along the pavement really slowly, generally about 5 or 6 of them together, and block the pavements up totally! So you have to go into the road to get past them! That really gets on my tits!
Oh well, only got another 2 weeks until i experience the horror of these again!

Tourists
I really can't stand the "tourists" who wander along Bangla, usually holding hands, looking scared stiff and staring into the bars! Why don't they go in ,they may actually enjoy themselves?

Living here and having to deal with it every day and night, I have to say its the driving skills, or rather the lack there of. Nearly every time I venture out onto the roads, you can count on having at least one close encounter.

The need for Thais to enter a lift / skytrain etc prior to the occupants leaving..
The need to pause at the entrance and or exit of any escaltor to work out where they are going..
The fact that middle aged or older Thais consider it perfectly acceptable to push in front of a farang as though they werent there (2nd class citizen) at any time.. I have got my pronounciation of Khor thort Krap.. Phom gorn to have just the right inflection of 'oi piss off matey' in it now...
Why every fried egg ever cooked has to be burnt to a crisp and yolk solid (I actually had to go behind the counter and show the local 'mama' cook how to do my eggs.. Much to the laughter and delight of the locals...
The inability to understand the simplest of ATM processes.. A withdrawl will take 5 mins.. Heaven forbid they are trying to pay a bill or transfer money as its faster to just go find another ATM.. Then theres the ones that put in 5 cards.. get 5 printed balances.. get confused.. scratch head.. get 2 of those balances again.. do some mental maths.. start to make withdrawls on each card... Get confused.. Start process again.. Or the company people deciding to pay 10 employees on the friday via an ATM even with a queue behind them (takes 20 mons) GO AND SEE THE TELLER !!!!!!
Lets not even get into punctuality.. Professionlism in a job well done.. anyone taking responsibility for anything whatsoever..
And having just got back from Ranong today... VISA RUNS..

I think we all agree with the comments being made here, but we have to remember we are the outsiders here, whether we like it or not, and we have chosen to reside here, so we need to put up with these annoyances.
What about the things that we really love about LOS.
For me it would have to be living here with the great food, great people and the great weather, and not to mention my wife and 2 dogs!!!

Believe it or not, I had some nice tuk-tuk drivers last time! Some with all their family sharing the event!!
I must say that there were more tuk-tuks then tourist getting on board!
No what I hate is that they serve bad food, to please tourists, who doesn't give a clue about the real stuff!
Luckily the coconut restaurant is giving nice food! In kata, it has been really bad! But...the club 44, who reopened in a new location has decent food. As I said combined with the niceest and prettiest waitress around, a cook originally from the North, I now even get a ball there!
Pitty I have still so many months to go!!!

Yeah of course... Compared to where I came from this place is superb... I am never going back thats for sure...
But a good moan about things just gets em off your chest.. Theres lots to this place thats baffling for the foriegners living here.. Maybe its a brit thing but we have a sense of humour that can be sharp to people not used to it also..

• Falang women (especially the old fat ones) going topless on the beach when all guidebooks tell them it is VERY rude in LOS
• Double pricing falang/Thai
• Pushy Indian tailors "Hello friend where you from? - come in come in"
• Corruption in official dealings
• The parking ticket I got in Patong while trying to give business to someone hit by the tsunami
• The guy using sea eagles for photos at Sunset viewpoint
• Falangs talking too loudly/shouting (brits + germans in particular)
• Underdressed lobster coloured tourists
• LB's who follow me around

Farangs who seem to talk non stop even when sitting in a travel agent and have no manners or thought that someone else is trying to get served. To the point that the thai man asked them to leave the shop.
Also the fact the this langauge sounds like they are ''singing'' everything and it is really annoying to listen to in general.
(French in particular)

I hate that yeah
My biggest moan, having to get on the plane to come home, I really fargin hate that.
I envy you guys who live there, every day that I am in farang land wishing that I was also one of the lucky ones who did not have to come home to this reality.
Where is that lottery win?
