whats happening is he can only upload a 100 kb file to the forum..
If he saved with a compression type of JPEG it would be ample.. Even Gif would allow for a large pic.. However Bitmaps are not efficient for photo type images, so hes obvioulsy shrinking down the image to something thats loadable by the foum but then by keeping it a BMP its pretty smal..
Try saving the origional as a JPEG at 640x480 or a little less...

You know your stuff LivinLos.I always save as JPEG 640x480 but still have to resize a little for the 100kb.Microsoft Photo Editor is as good as any for this

I recommend Photoshop and "Save for web" or use ACDSee and resize there. The forum has a 100Kb limit, with Photoshop it is easy to use high resolution but still create small files and maintain high quality.
.BMP is a loseless compression and the files will always be big, use .JPG for photos you want upload to the forum.

I use a program called Compupic...great little photo management suiteand once you get use to it, it's the easiest softwrae I ever use.
Got a code generator for it so if anybody downloads it and likes it, contact me and I'll email you the code.

For free you cant beat IRFanView..
Also Nicke, could you expand the avatars to be a bit bigger ??? If you use a forum avatar its +- 60 x 75 but if you want to use your own its 50x50 which is tiny on my monitor...

maya bay etc. are all still great its just the village at main island.
thats one of the problems I had 2 hours on PHI PHI was just too much
it was a little depressing, there are tours that dont stay as long
when you get to phuket just see one of the tour agents they know all the tours.

Hi LivinLOS, I will change the settings for the avatar so you can use bigger ones. i think about maximum 90x90 pixels.

Maya beach is great. I spent a couple of hours there in March, but yes the rest of Phi Phi is a little depressing.

Ah it's nice to get an update on Phi Phi and see pictures. I'm looking forward to seeing it for myself in a few weeks.
