I use Skype a lot but thats PC to PC and not so many BG's have broadband and computer setups...

Just seen this site that seems as though calling from UK landline to Thailand can be 4p per minute.

UK calls can be free !!! Works using VoIP and is you have VoIP hardware (SIP/AIX etc) or use a 'softphone' you can use PC to landline also...

At 4p per minute you can have a 1 hour talk with your girl for couple of quid.

That beats Skype (PC to landline) rates as they are .092 (.05 for BKK) Euros per min but Skype still wins if you are calling mobiles (ay 0.93).. Of course Skype needs a PC and mike setup at the caller end.

Personally if I had a LT'er and I was not here I would get her a cheap computer and skype PC to PC free... I use perhaps a couple of hours a day on it and conference call with family and biz...

VoIP is really changing the costs..

I've found using this site to have very variable quality for UK-UK calls.
There is a huge thread here on all the possibilities of this :

(might need to register - I'm not sure)

These include buying dedicated VOIP phones and gaining a phone number you can answer via VOIP.

i,ve been using www.justdialcard.com for the last 6 months now and find them to be very good , not necessarily the cheapest at 12p per minute mobile 2 mobile , but very convenient to use , no scratch card or wasted minutes or pin numbers to dial..
