Hi Sxygirl
So have you now worked out how to resize and post your full size pic yet?
I assume you have read all the posts giving you the exact details of how to do this?
You can even use Microsoft Photo Editor or Paint that comes with your OS,that is good enough to resize to 100kbs,the largest filesize the forum will allow.
I await your pic with interest

IMHO Sxygirl is real and a sexy girl! I think that the day she makes it to Phuket a lot of people will be batting a lot of eyelashes, and saying, "Wow! She is a sexy girl!!" Then Sxygirl will have the last laugh!

and sxygirl: if you can manage to scan/import your (profesional make-up/professionally lit/professionally photographed) pic you can cut'n'paste, no?
Its overcompressed as it is - so 'someone' did it at some point.

You make it sound so easy! But as you may have noticed in past threads, a lot of people have problems when they are confronted by the 100 KB limit.
I remember the first time I tried to email a pic to some one 2 years ago, I had pretty much the same problem as sxygirl, which is every time I tried to make it less pixels, then the picture got bigger and bigger. When I had it within the acceptable limit, the pic(which was of me, I was sending to a lady) had me looking like a giant, my whole head wouldn't fit on the screen!
When i first tried to post pics here using the software that came with my scanner(I didn't have a digital camera then), I would have to crop the heck out of it, and then reduce the resolution to where sometimes the pic was a little fuzzy.
The last time I posted some pics a couple weeks back, I was at the office and used the Microsoft program there. With that program it was incredibly quick and easy, a real snap.
But when I tried to use the freebie program that River put up the link for last week, it took me an hour and a half trying to crop and compress three pics, and it glitched on the third one and froze up the whole computer, so I had to manually reboot it. So for one and a half hours work, I got two compressed pics that would have taken me not much more than a minute to do, if I had the Microsoft program at home, but I don't. The freebie software was designed really well in terms of the options and the layout. Actually, in some ways Ilike it better than the Microsoft one. Trouble is that it just doesn't work very well, because it goes in slow motion. Drag the mouse and wait 10 seconds before you see anything happen on the screen. Click on "crop" or "compress" and wait a minute or two to see the result. Whe I got impatient and clicked to try to change something before it was done with the last command, then the whole thing glitched.
So, yes, it is real easy if you have the right software and are pretty good with computers, but there is a lot of crummy software out there, and we are not all computer whizzes!

Paintshop, first resize, sometimes not necessary, but if you just do:
file : jpeg automiser and put an reasonable amount of recompression and save it on your computer and then load it up, a larger picture can be shown, like this.
This is not a pretty Thai girl, but the lady who rented chairs on Kata beach, we were so happy to find alive on Kata-beach!
As you can see, the quality is reasonble and only compressed on 24. The size is not small at all!

You must have a slow computer or not enough ram it takes me about 20 sec to compress pics in that program you just click on file open select the pic then slide the optimiser bar across until you reach just under 100kb and then press F5 for save as.
I even downloaded some really high res stuff to see how it worked and it took a 5mb jpeg down to 96kb but there was some definate quality loss in the compression still not bad for free.

TO Hobbsy:
yes u r right "someone" did do it for me, the girl that i was supposed to go to los with came to vegas to stay with me for a week a bit after we were supposed to leave, anyways this girl is very good with computers and so she is the one who posted it for me, however, even she had a hard time because the size kept becoming a problem even though it was a very small pic. compared to some, and NO , she does not know how to "crop" pics. either, anyways, she is back home in cali. and i dont know how she did it becuase i wasnt worried about having to re-do it to please u guys. so for the record u can now apologize.

sxygirl, I always try to avoid to have an argument with other BM's, although being attacked a few times in the past....
But, without being offensive, it seem that you are crying for attention in every possible way!
You are pretty, big boobs, a friend who looks like an actress, coming to Los and counting the days not coming, for a stupid reason!
One thing doesn't match. I looked at your first post and you said this:
Quote:
|
only this time i am going with my husband
|
Quote:
|
I dont want him to get in the way of me hooking up with bg's
|
Well and a bit later, you write this:
Quote:
|
I am sooooo excited me and my bisexual best friend of 18 yrs. (since we were 4) well not bisexual since 4 but friends since 4 are coming to patong very soon!!!
|
Where did your husband went from one moment till another?
So you all have nice stories about yuou looking like a young Britney, you come first with your husband, who never is mentioned after your first posts, your friend looks like Cameron Diaz, but there is always a reason why your soooo great holliday is delayed......
I can be wrong, but I never heard so many weird things since Dude was on the board!
Can you blame people, not following you anymore?
Again, I don't say you are not genuine, but I may say that I have my doubts. I cannot blame people thinking that picture is the one of an actress. I also know one who looks like that, but she doesn't look like Britney.....

(the reputation pts. crack me up, its like some kind of weird little soccer game score method or something. lol lol) Anyways, Mine and my husband's relationship is very private, often painful and very inconsistent to say the least, so........i would very much appreciate if that never again comes up on this board. Thank You.

Actually, the the compression mode seemed to work real well, it was the cropping and especially the rotating that I had problems with. Whenver I rotated a pic in the wrong direction, then it wa difficult to get it to rotate back. Some times i would ahve to exit or cancel and start all over and then finally it just glitched. Also I have to admit that with no directions or help section, it took me a while to figure out what was what. I'll try it again. I know I have at least 256 K Ram, and I think more than that, and a 1.8 GB Pentium chip.

Hey Diz, How's it going?
Hate to differ, but in my totally unbiased opinion , rep points has nothing to do with number of fans. There are people at this forum who are like the actors, because they post a lot and get involved in the action, esp. the controversial stuff. Then there are people who just come to look and read posts, and are the spectators or fans of various actors or various threads.
It is like the movies. It is not what the actors themselves think about a film that matters. Even the critics have little to do with the popularity of a movie or the actors in it. It is the number of people who come to the theater and watch the movie or pay to rent it that matters. And with TV, the number of people who tune their sets in to a particular show.
On the Internet, it is the number of hits that counts and that determines the popularity of a thread or person. Hits count! Rep points are meaningless. Advertisers pay for ads on websites purely on the basis of hits!
On a recent thread, I remember the BM, who started it, saying, "Hey, 77 views and only 3 responses, come on, people, say something!" But most people are passive and don't become active participants. Their views, however, count more than anything! But the passive people don't participate
in the rep system much, because they don't get counted for points there.
It is only recently that many people, even some veteran BMs, began paying much attention to the rep system. I had well over 1100 posts before I even took the time to figure out how the rep system works(it is not obvious), and gave anyone rep points for the first time. I always thought it was silly, and never paid any mind to it. I was once told that at one time I had 4 green cards. I never even noticed. I am not even sure if that was true. The first time I ever looked at it was when it was pointed out to me that I had a red card!
A final thought: a long time ago, it was observed by a very smart person, who, commenting on the scandals involving film stars, said, "There is no such thing as bad publicity." In other words, bad publicity only made controversial actors more popular at the box office, which is the bottom line.

Should be enough I guess 256k is the absolute minimum recomended with xp , there is a help section at the top left ( File View Help ) click on help to bring down the menu I never tried rotating.

Well of course we assume that its 256 MB as 256 KB or Kb would get nowhere
Have you tried IRFanView ?? For batch conversion its great.. Set up a conversion / compression setting and 'add' files press batch process and let it do a whoile directory of images in one go..

But, my favourite Brendan Behan quote is "Critics are like eunuchs in a harem; they know how it's done, they've seen it done every day, but they're unable to do it themselves. "

I tried the Help menu, but it said that I didn't have that file. But I did figure things out. I'm sure I'll do better next time. I'll have to be sure that I'm rotating the right way, so I don't have to try to reverse what I just did!
Thanks!
