Anyone else purchased from here????
I am sure we have all seen this cart being wheeled around in Bangla road, i was hit for a monkey on my first tour
 but somehow managed to avoid it on my second, anybody else own up to buying a girl something from it??EDIT, makes no sense without photo  Last edited by S1MON : 03-06-2005 at 17:41.

 Yes, i "had" to buy a great big teddy off that cart!  I can remember thinking at the time of buying it that it was very very expensive, but i was drunk and she was moaning!  But as you said, when i was there with you a few weeks back i dont remember seeing that cart stall at all! But then with the 55 yr old and the trips to hospital! I dont remember seeing that much of anything!! I wonder if the bg goes back the next day and gets a tip from the stall owner if shes gets one of us to buy something for her!??????????????? i think at 300 baht you got off lightly. I think i paid near 5 or 600 baht for the stupid fcuker i bought!
I can remember her saying that she 'collects' them. But a few days later i went around her flat with her and her sister(?), where there was no teddys, not even the on i bought!!!!!!???

What I finally figured out to do with her was to grab a motabike taxi or tuk tuk immediately on leaving the soi, and ride home instead of walking. Saved money on dolls and jewelry. Third Tour - She went straight for the cell phone and jewelry!! Didn't even show any gratitude for that.  The cell phone alone was 8,500 Baht! Live and learn!!Fourth Tour - Bought her a Sylvester the Cat stuffed doll. Good choice. I think it was 300 Baht. She didn't whine at all, and it was worth it just to see how happy it made her. The tough thing about those carts is that if you got a girl whining and tugging on your arm, it sure makes it tough to negotiate. They can tell right away if you really like the girl, and youi don't want to come off looking like a piker in her eyes. Oh, well, what's 300 or 500 Baht if you really like the girl!! You usually get rewarded in other ways  mote than enough to make it worth the dough! JayBee

Back in Africa
No i am afriad i have been back in Africa for the last 2 days, rotation schedule is all ****ed up at the moment so i dont have dates for my next trip, should not be more than 7 weeks though, much better when you have definate dates for leaving.

What absolute garbage, i did not break all the rules, i have yet to purchase a buffalo, no doubt this will be in my next trip. I have managed to forget about the other one after she punched me in the face a couple of times in safari one night  , as for where my girl is i am not sure, perhaps she is on her annual vacation.Simon
