Sport fishing

Hi guys,

I fancy doing some sport fishing in July/August. After using search I find only dissapointing reviews of agent booked fishing charters.

Many folks say that they would use Wahoo next time, but no-one actually seems to have, infact, used them...

Good charter boats are big money so I would love some feedback from BM's who have had a good experience... I don't want to waste the equivalent of 25 LT's!!!

It's a golden opportunity to dig out your fishy tales

Cheers,

Nic

Sorry I have no recommendation to give.

I have just done some basic cheap fishing, e.g. 1000 baht tours with a group of friends. We were e.g. 10 people and just 2 people could fishing at a time while the others just enjoyed the trip and the sea/sun.

We got a new barowner in Soi Eric this month and his new bar, Let's go bar. They also arrange fishing and diving tours and you can book at the bar. You can always check out their website www.letsgocharter.com

But there are a lot of companies offering similar tours.

i have used the boats that you book in agents loads,it is a bit hit and miss but you always get some skipjack and i have had 3 sailfish in my time of 40kg 25kg and15kg. if you just want a good day out with fishing for about1800 baht it's o.k. but agree if you really serious you going to pay at least20,000 for a fully equipt boat for the day

Have just checked out this website.
Interesting picture on it of tanks secured to the boat with bungy cords.
I hate to think of the potential consequences if the boat was in rough seas or had a collision.
If this is a sample of this companies safety precautions, I would definitely think twice before using them.

When the foot of the tank is in an holder it is the usual fixing method on most dive boats all around the world and not considered unsafe.

Fished last November in the Phuket gamefish classsic on a local boat and had really good fishing .Wahoo have very good boats and gear but are expensive .You can usually book a local boat from the owners at chalong bay and bypass the agents also if the boat or gear is poor you can complain.Cant wait to get back in November
