Hello all
Hello all,
this is my first time posting here, a little bit about myself...
Currently living in Khon Kaen for the last three years, legally married on Feb 14th this year, the romantic in me...although the Thai civil ceremony does take the romance out of it a bit.
I first started coming to Phuket about 15 years ago from Bonnie Scotland and was also where I met my wife and spent many enjoyable trips there as in oil & gas biz so equal time off was spent in LOS
At the moment stationed in Egypt for 3 weeks then back home for 4 weeks before a month in Angola
Look forward to having many chats as this job gives me plenty of free time

Welcome to the board
Fellow scot here also in the oil business, not so far away from you in Equatorial Guinea, this rotation lark is definatly the key to enjoying life, i tried permanent over here and lasted about 2 years, then i realised that money was not everything and needed to enjoy myself more, now i am 4 and 4 rotating out of phuket.
Where about in scotland are you from and do you plan on visiting patong at all??
Simon

Hi Simon,
from Hamilton originally but long time ago, been working away here & there since I was 22, I was down in Phuket about 6 weeks ago for a weeks holiday with the family & my friend my England who also lives in Khon Kaen...It was the first time I had been there for about 1 and a half years and did notice the differences, not Tsunami inflicted...I was in a bar in Soi Sea Dragon and it was about 10pm and looking down the Soi there were about 8 or 9 other felangs, still had a ball and the kids were never out the swimming pool and was good to catch up with a lot of old friends from Claret's ( previously Scottish owned )

Thanks for the welcome, yeah Khon Kaen is quite a popular place for BG's to come from, it's getting more felangs visiting every time I go home and not unusual to meet a guy who has come up to see the village (with donations) of course, that sick water buffalo that he has heard of so much ( and spent vast amounts of baht in it's recuperation )
It's definetly on the up and land prices are rocketing up here and the amount of new estates springing up is unbelievable, I just hope that it doesn't mean that the Issan BG supply train will dry up to Phuket as more bars are opening here all the time...

Hi KK Boy!! Welcome to the Board! Good to have you aboard! Never been to KK yet, but I think I will go there my next trip. Have to see it before too much money spoils the place!

Heh bb you do not have a picture of your buffalo as I am starting to worry that it might be the same one I was sponsoring, he told me that he loved me and that i was the only one and that with my money he wouldn't have to work in the fields anymore.

Hey Jonas, I live in Khon Kaen city about 2km from the airport, unfortunately I don't get back to KK until 12/07/05 as currently working in Egypt at the moment..maybe next time man
Mark I don't know what your technical background is so hard for me to say who to contact, but a few years in the N.Sea would help to obtain overseas job
Wbc, what type of systems do you mean ?
