Samui info for Phuket lover
Hi PL,
Ok, Chaweng is built on one long street, about 3km long. About half way down is the Burger King. All the bars and discos are near Burger King.
Taxis and tuk tuk galore up and down the street. Never a problem.
Accomodation. Like everywhere, prices and quality vary. I have stayed at a place which is quite expensive called Chaweng Villas, about 150m away from Burger King, but cost about 1,400 a night. Not really worth it. There is a place across from Burger King called Chaweng Bungalows. They are about 600 baht but basic. Like always, you MUST haggle with the prices, and tell them you wont pay a joiner fee.
Samui is different to Patong, but still worth a look. Beware if you are not too fond of ladyboys, because there is a lot, but there are still enough bar girls. There are some stunners. Have a look at Green Mango disco.
I always found accomodation to be a bit expensive on Samui, but generally you are in a bungalow, right next to the beach, so it is to be expected.
Best bet is to just get a taxi from the airport (it takes about 10 minutes), and go to the centre and you will soon find something.
