Are Thai values changing ?

All BM's can relate to this one not just the expats, if you have a girl for a week or more....

Many BM's have been visiting/living in LOS for many years and been involved one way or another with the opposite ( or same if that way inclined ) sex.
Whe you went to beer bar or go go it was basically on your terms i.e. you decided who you wanted to take be it BG, FL or GGD, but over the years I have noticed a change in the way that the "good girls" are changing, has the internet opened their eyes to many things ? I think it has.
I have been openely approached in KK by "good girls" when on my own shopping, BTW Big C great pick up joint, and asked do you have girlfriend/wife ? I reply yes I have wife but sometimes this does not deter them and they say you want Mia Noi (bit on the side) NO THANKS!!! I still like my manhood attached...

But I can see a trend developing that the younger ladies are now more forthright and open, I don't know are they rebelling against their culture, but a definite change in attitudes is in the air...it is not so shameful now to have a Felang boyfriend but in some higher circles it is actively approved by the parents, maybe we are just a current fashion trend ???

Is it a good or bad thing ?
I think it is a bit of both, as I do respect Thai culture, infuriating at times, but not being beholding to the parents as much is a good thing, as many with outlaws ( in-laws ) will testify

Are the days of the BG numbered ????

Well, that just got Big C added to my Krungthep itinerary

I suppose in the past the perception was TG+Falang = ******+John, not so stigmatized as in other countries, but still not up to the social standards of 'Good Girls'. However the GGGs and BGs are amongst the top earners in Thai society and perhaps the Good Girls (and their families) are noticing this.

i just think with modernation comes modern thinking. and i dont think it comes down to money all the time. i was with my tailor friend, who is very prominent, especially his wife's family. we went to a very big seafood restaurant in karon, they were very good friends with the owner, they were basically trying to marry me off to the owners daughter right there, saying that if the daughter married a foreigner, the owner would give them one of her two restaurants. she has plenty of money so she wasnt looking for the rich farang to marry her daughter. so it sounds great, right? unfortunately, the daughter weighed about 70kgs, and even then i was still thinking about, figuring i could always have a mia noi!

I visited LT family and her parents wanted me to make her pregnant (no not so they could obtain wedges of dosh off me) so the child would have hopefully, lighter skin, european eye shape and they said they would pray it had blue eyes, a bit like breeding a new super thai race, with me as the creator.

I shook hands on the deal and practised with their daughter as much and often as possible but sadly failed to deliver the new super thai child, never mind if I keep going back to LOS, practise makes perfect!!!

They all do it at some point if they like you, think you are fun to be with, have a good heart, and look like you would be an adequate provider. The same thing happens in the Philippines also. Look out if they want you to go bareback after a few days. At least you know that you are an acceptable mate and they will take better care of you as I am sure that you know. My girl in the PI took 2 days before she wanted a baby(We were staying in a 5 star hotel in Manila and going shopping, eating nice meals, and going out every night so she obvoiusly thought that I had the $).

I know this is not new to you but I just mentioned its as it seems like the attitude in most pay for play areas is similar.

Whether the Thais like it or not, their whole system of 'thai' is changing.

With the huge numbers of foreign travellers who now visit Thailand, and huge numbers who have mixed their genetics with lovely thai girls, you now have a large group of 'mixed race' Thais.

These people are a mix of east and west, and im sure they will feel strong links to both places.

If Thailand wants to keep itself 'totally thai' then it is losing a battle.

A lot of countries around the world are the same - travel is so cheap and easy, and restrictions on living in other countries are more relaxed.

I bet its not too long before USA or the UK has a black president or prime minister (Im not racist ! ).


The only thing that stays the same, is that everything changes !

I do think that 'western' influence is changing standard Thai society (not totally for the better) and that some of the anti farang xenophobia is getting to be more a rural phenomenon which will in turn probably reach a tipping point where 'city folk' look down on the attitude...

I also saw some pics of a TG the other day with shocking blue eyes.. Have to assume they were vanity contacts but she looked damn hot..
