yeah... go get a triple entry tourist visa from your home embassy...

With the triple you can extend each segment (60 day) for a further 30 days each entry.. That makes it effectively 3x90 days but be very careful to do a visa run the day before it expires as one day late loses you a full 60 + 30.. After the 9 months one more visa run gets you to your desired amount..

If your from the UK or Oz there is another option..

Visa runs depends on how much time and money you want to spend, bus to Ranong or plane to Singapore, of course there are other options.

If you arrive on a normal 30 days tourist visa, you can extend it before it expire with e.g. 10 days at the nearest immigration office for 1900 baht. So 5 weeks stays shouldn't be any problem.

visa story

Right guys I will also be doing the same as most people . visa runs
what's the best route to go down to obtain the 90 day visa as
my mates just got blown out by the embassy in London when he applied for the 90 day visa the O
mulitypole thingy merjig . and he had a letter from Thailand saying he was getting married in august

he was given a 60 day visa instead, bummer

do you bluff the embassy and say your travelling round the whole of Thailand on savings
or tell them you have a long term girlfriend ?
iam unsure what I should be asking for

cheers

Before you come apply from Hull for a non imm O... They shouldnt give them according to the global rules but they do !! Totally different from London..

Hit thier website and DL all the PDF's explains in detail how to get a 12 month non imm O for 90 GBP.. if you do a visa run the day before it expires it makes just shy of 15 months for the hardship of 4 visa runs.

Good stuff livinlos
its typical London being difficult with people
I did e mail the London office ages ago and got nothing back

15 months is sweet as a nut . I will be skint by then anyway
can you keep doing the 90 day one or is it a 1 off thing

say I was in LOS for the 15 months then came back to S..tBritan
for 3 months would they give me another ?

You have to be already married to a Thai to get a non imm O, saying your getting married wont cut it.

No sorry, I totally ignore the bastards, as I have no need for a suit living here, and come to think of it, I never did in my working life either. But I'm sure someone else with pipe in with one or two.

Actually Steve my advice for Hull is not 'normal' circumstances.. Hull for some reason will give a 12 month non imm O on the basis of visiting friends and family ?!?! Its not a valid reason according to any other embassy or consulte (Tho I hear Huston and Brisbane are also loose) but they do..

You have to have a person in the UK sign they will pay for you to return (guarantor) should anything happen but they have all the forms and even a sample letter in PDF format to simply fill in..

For a Brit getting a non imm O in Hill for 12 months stay is as easy as a 90 GBP fee and its processed usually in a day by either postal or actual visit..

Consult Thaivisa.com to see if Brisbane or melbourne will issue Non Imm O's from the consulate.. They did a copuple of years back but its moving goalposts with different directives being handed down (eg we cant get them at local SE Asian countries now).. Not being in Oz or holding Oz passport I dont follow thier current status as closely..

Seems outside of SE Asia you can also buy a 12 month B visa sponsorship on 'investigating investment opportunities'.. Sunbelt sell them at 7700 baht approx and then you have the visa fee (+- 125 USD in local currency) at the embassy.. Still have to visa run every 90 days..
