Hi
Im travelling to Phuket a week on saturday...........is it best to change my money in the UK or wait untill I get to Phuket and exchange it there.......??

I always change £100 in the airport just to get me going when I first get there and then use the atm's in the street, I believe it is the cheapest way especially if you got nationwide card as they don't charge transaction fee.

If you search on keyword you will find there are other threads already on this subject probably help more than me cos I lazy when it comes to exchanging money.

exchange booth at airport change small amount ($20 to $50)there.(on right just after customs)
when you get to town plenty of bank foreign exchanges open 10am till 1 am
i normally take $1500 aud (put in hotel safe)cash and the rest just get from ATM plenty around

It is always better to change the money in Thailand.

I always take home to Germany some Baht (about 10,000 Baht). So if I go next time to LOS I have not the hussle to change money at the airport.

Good idea, but i`m running out of money everytime i go to LOS.... (wonder why.....

)

But no prob to change at the airport.
