Hi guys,

New to this group but will be around for a while, I am sure. I am going to BKK in early sept. I seem to recall someone saying in a recent post that they were shaving off their beard.

Why?

I have a full face beard neatly trimmed about 1/2" long. I have had it for 30 years as I am too lazy to shave. Don't tell me girlies in Thailand don't like beards?

If not, what happens? Do I sit in a bar like a pariah? ignored by the bar girls?

Seems a lot to ask to shave it off.

i think BG like it better whitout beard, when i come to my
50 ths anniversary i have had my beard since 25 years,
no problem to catch a BG but she tould me she dos not
like it, so next i come to LOS i have shave, so it will be
and the girls love me and my money.

hi dave you won,t get any problem with a beard, the t,g,s dont like stubble though,as it scratches their skin ,thats all the problem is!(your going to bankok???shame on you !watch out for the scams !!

Thanks for the warning, but I will only be flying into BKK then I'll get a train pass and head out. I plan to be there 4 weeks and see as much as I can in the short time. Maybe get lucky and find a GF relationship. I'll try the bars but I am ultimately looking for more than just a chunk of banging.

Thinking seriously about the Retirement Visa. I've had it with these yankee women, their whining, self interest and their therapists etc etc. LOL!!

been to patong with a beard and without only difference was paying for my razor !!!
No diference getting the girls

Asked same Q about 10mo. ago - reassured, kept beard for BKK. BGs/GGGs no problem but mouth say 'no mind' eyes say 'no keen'.

Shaved for Patong. major razor rash - Boots soothing balm/clearasil cleared up in 3-4 days. Advantage - return BKK no one recognized me 8^)

This Tour: Shaved off 4-5 days before departure - major rash and acne outburst (not normal for me). Again balm/clearasil cleared in time for trip. Don't use wet razor any more - use mini electric shaver just before going out mongering.

Shaving - don't regret it, don't miss it , but will grow back when return home to keep the farang chicks at bay 8^)

I have been there 4 times, total of over 7 months, altogehter. Many girls have asked me to shave. I have a full beard, short and neat, same as yours. Always kept nicely trimmed.

Where it may make a difference, is when you have your eye on a very sharp lady, who has her pick of the men. But I had no trouble getting ladies, and a lot of them very good looking, as I am usually choosy, but am known to lower my standards considerably after 2:00 when wearing the beer goggles(or tequila goggles, which are even thicker).

The last tour, with one girl I liked, every day she would look at me, make a very funny face

to show me she doesn't like, and take all her fingers and make a motion of scraping her cheeks, and make a funny noise, like "enghhhh!!!"

That was her way of saying she wanted me to shave. Then she would take a finger and trace on my face where she wanted me to shave. She was OK w/ a small goatee, and just at least wanted me to shave my cheeks. Then she would coo to me

about how handsome I would be if only I would just shave my cheeks for her, and tell me how she would be so proud to be with me, and how all her friends would be jealous of her for having such a handsome BF!

I really liked her, so I told her that if she were to be with me for 10 days, then I would shave down to a goatee, like she asked me to. Unfortunately, she did not make the ten days. Later, I took her again once or twice, and she asked me why I didn't shave for her like I said I would. I reminded her about the ten days requirement, and said, "Sorry, you never made the ten consecutive days." I would have kept my end of the bargain, but she did not make the cut. Too much monkey business from her!!

In general, I found that the girls with very few exceptions, did not like the beard, and were not shy to tell me that, if asked, and often volunteered their opinon without being asked. BUT, once they spent a few nights with me, then a lot of them seemed to secretly like it. They liked playing with it, and they liked that it is very soft. Some admitted to me that they were surprised to find that they liked it. BUT they still usually said they would like it if I shaved, because then I would look better to their friends!!! They like to be with "handsome" man, and like GFs to be a little bit jealous of them!!

There have been a few that I have told that if they could convince me that they loved me or if they pleased me enough, then I would shave, but they had to earn it. So I like it to be a game. For me, having me shave is a prize that the girl must win. I really dislike shaving, so I have to have a godd reason to shave. Only one girl

in BKK has been successful, but only for a goatee, not a full clean shave. When I left BKK, and went back to Patong, all the girls I knew there commented on the goatee, and how much more "handsome" I looked, but usually added that it just proved to them that I should shave entirely, and would look even more "handsome" then.

As the famous proverb says, "Handsome" is in the eye of the beholder!! But perhaps an even better one is "Handsome" is as "handsome" does!!! BTW, i never understood what having "some hands" has to do with being good-looking!! Maybe in Thai, the word for beardless means handsome!!
