Hi Guys,

I'll be in Phuket on the 14th Aug and I heard about this prawn fishing restaurant where you fish for your food?? Is this true? And if so, where is it located?

Welcome to the board you Mexican.

There are several within tuk tuk ride from Patong, and one very near. I'm assuming that you will be hooking up with a LBFM, so just ask her, she'll know the way, if not the tuk tuk drivers all know.

Hi

can't be precise on the location but an expat guy I met on my trip used to drop his misses off at a bar just off the back road around patong when we used to head off to Bangla and pick her up later. I was usually too drunk to know the precise location but the bar had a pool and the locals were fishing for prawn in the pool and apparently you kept your catch.

Maybe someone local can fill you in on the precise location of the bar/fresh water fish pool.

I was trying to avoid catching crabs......

isn't there one off pisit karani road? As I recall its just off a corner a and a turning up the hill. Had a really great day there getting keemau and eating prawns

When I was in los a couple of times back, some of the staff from mtb took me to one of these in Patong (I think!) one day.

It took us nearly an hour to get there as the tuk tuk driver didn't have a clue where it was! In the end one of the bg's had to get out and show him where it was!

Was a great day though, very simple but alot of fun especially when you have money on who will catch the most! Just dont bet rounds of teqellia on the result as that night was an expensive one for me at mtb!

yeah man ,i been there,im fukced if i know where it is though,good fun at all times,hungry during the day and fancy a catch or p1ssed up after hours,great.only 5-10mins ride from bangla.
its just like a swimming pool u sit round,i wouldnt go in though

oooch.listen out for that horn.

There is a prawn fishing restaurant/thai karaoke on Nanai 2 its open 24hrs a day. Any motor bike taxi or tuk tuk will know how to get u there and also many BG's know where it is

Went there quite a few times last trip, brilliant fun, there is absolutley no technique, but stick around the middle of the pool as this is where most prawns party. Great fun for an afternoon, sitting on the side of the pool with a beer sing in one hand and some really big bbq'd prawns in the other, they will also cook you anything you want from their kitchens. Took bike taxi each time cost 40 bahts and is about 5 mins from Bangla Road.

I didn't know this concept but it looks really funny. But how do you catch the prawns ? Is it a big pool ? I need to try it, sure

the karaoke have some private rooms upstairs and i did have some grate times there whit some bg

you can have your food and drinks there and the girls singe weeelly good
