Have any of you guys either been at the end of your holiday and short of cash or been invited to a party at a thais house and basically had to spend a whole night drinking either sangthip or mekong with coke i have had this misfortune a couple of times whats your opinion on these 2 products (wont call them drinks) i find that sangthip i can just about stand but i am afraid i would rather drink my own urine than drink mekong i have even had a night when all that was available was black cat i seriously considered becoming tee total after that night 55555555555555

tho the worst hangover I think I ever had was a bottle of Mekong.. felt like my head had spilt open and my brain swelling out..

its all good,all though i feel a bit rough in the morning,but hey,p1ssed up for fcuk all,i prefer samsong,its usually the excess amounts of coke that gets to me,bit of juice sorts it out i find.
u pay 3 times the amount for imported drinks,which i did always drink on my first trip,but i find i spend sh1t loads,just cant do it all the time.

Samsong buckets here i come.

I got along great with the Mekong. Although I did end up passed out on the side of a road. Got carried into my bungalow by bg, 2 tuk-tuk drivers and the hotel security... Didn't learn from that so brought a bottle home with me and ended up sleeping on my front door step all night with my house keys held tightly in my hand...

Is it truth or rumour that the mekong has amphetamines in it?

Spent one night at the corner of Bangla drinking mekong shots with some locals and a bg! That night i was as sick as a dog!!!!!!

When i woke the next morning the bg thought i was dead due to the massive amount of blood all over my half of my bed! Had a huge nose bleed and slept right through it......... quite lucky to be alive I think!

NEVER AGAIN!

But I can only drink it it straight, as it makes coke taste like puke to me!

First it is SangSom not samsong

I think Mekong is the Thai chemical Whiksy and SangSom the Thai chemical Rum. And because i can drink many bottle Bacardi so SangSom with a slice of lemon for me Same Same when i am over there. Whisky for me is like drinking from a drain..

same same,they bth just make me do the technicolour yawn down the big white telephone,stick to ice cold beer myself(apart from a couple of shots from mine host at MTB)

Had a bootle of sangsom quite often. No big probs the next day.
Usually drink sangsom/coke in LOS.

Mekong is nothing for me..... hangover for one or two days....

I can drink Sangsom every day in LOS and feel just great

Problem is how to get along with Megong and "Laokao" i can have a few but only cos´ i want to be "polite" to the locals

I had alot of "Laokao pock pock" on a birthday party but nearly puked ... so did the birthday child but that was because he eat my snus/snuff 555

i LOVE Sangsom and lippo..... yummy!!!!! in Samui they do bukets of Sangsom, cole and lippo over ice.. it's all good but you end up getting totally sh*t-faced which is a good thing and it's only a few hundred baht.

On my first trip to Patong, i did the strangest 'cocktail' ever. If i remember correctly it had shit loads of thai gin (???), lots of ice, a bag of salt, loads of sliced limes and chilli's. Now that was some strange drink! Never been drinking with tailors since!

It is also called "swedish bucket" after all the swedish backpackers that drink it...

dont know what it is called they always know what i'm on about cus i make funny hand signals and try to speak thai, everyone seems to be drinking it in chaweng!!!! it's soooooooooo nice but end up getting really messy... 55555555555

I thought the "swedish bucket" was something they kept in the corner, for use after too much Sangsom.
