"face" (easy boys....head out of the gutter....OUT!) is no joke to those girls...i wonder if its purely the culture or if perhaps a larger part of it is trying to have some dignity since the occupation may make them feel like less....sad but could be. I know before i was stripping if some random guy mouthed off to me i could have cared less......now if im at work and some drunk customer gets lippy i get waaayyyyyyy defensive because i mean your already selling your body in a sense .....u have to keep some self-respect etc. fathomable.......maybe the same and even more so for the bargirls. what do u guys think?

Some good advice there. I don't underestimate the value of 'face'. Just because of the whole situation it doesn't mean you should be treating the BGs like meat. As a hopeless newbie, I'll probably be doomed to changing bars every night to avoid offending anybody! Can't wait for my next trip.

I guess you have a very good point there. As i said before i am no expert on the BG's scene and reading this tread now with the knives and stuff i wish it stayed like this. Its gonna be different walking around there again in oktober knowing al of this.

maybe we gave u the wrong idea.....patong is the safest place on earth....as long as u dont piss of any of the wrong girls. 95% of them u could actually get away fine with pissing off and no reprecussions except maybe a dirty look or pouting or something....its the other 5% u have to watch out for.....so no worries, have an awesome trip and dont be stressed or nervous....its not that big of a deal. its just that i was there for so long i guess the odds started to turn against me etc. i just got in w/ the wrong crowd (to say the least) and had some drama since i was there w/ my boyfriend and when i found out he was banging a girl that was supposed to be my best friend at the time i confronted her and pushed her in the middle of the st. in front of tai pan and a tuk-tuk almost hit her etc. so......i am soooo not a violent person but i was giving this chick $$$ to send to her babies and bar-fining her etc. so she could have nights off and then she was ****ing my boyfriend / fiance on those nights!!!!!! so i sort of lost it....therefore, i upset the wrong group of people and they turned out to be the most violent bunch in all of freakin phuket......(if i didnt have shitty luck i would have no luck at all) so.........have a great time and dont push anyone in front of a tuk-tuk and u should be good to go!!! lol lol

thanks babe.....and the weird part is i still want to come back some day in the near future.......i am determined to have a positive thailand experience damn it!! this time i want the girls for me, im gonna do it my way.

Don't worrie about me , after walking around some creapy arias of jakarta in the middle of the night i am not scared easy hehe.

But its funny that almost everybody has a story to tell about some narrow escape they made. Maybe in your case you didn't really escape it but i don't know your story. And i almost can't wait anymore ....
