Golf and Boat Lagoon Area

Guys,

This will be my first time going to Phuket with family (usually just guys having fun). Therefore, I have a few questions that require assistance:

(1) Which is the best golf courses? Which is the cheapest? What are the green fees like? Any ways to det discounts on green fees?

(2) Usually I stay at Patong but this time we will be staying at the Royal Lighthouse Villas at Boat Lagoon. This is because of a time share we have. Anyway, how far is Boat Lagoon from Patong? Where exactly is it? Is the place good? what type of activities is close for families?

Thanking you guys in advance.

Jo2.

All golfcourses are good. Best one Blue Canyon "canyon course" (other one Blue Canyon Lake course). Greenfees in Phuket, I think between approx 2600 and 4500 Baht (for canyon course). Never pay full price as I am PEGS (Phuket Expat Golf Sciety). Discounts possible if booked by golf companies.
I don't know Royal Lighthouse Villa's is about 35 minutes by taxi from Patong. Nothing to do in Boat Lagoon, except chartering a boat. Also nothin in the vicinity. It is on the East side of the Island, close to where the road to/from Kathu/Patong joins the 402 Phuket-airport road. If you have a map of phuket, check Sapam Bay.

There are 5 clubs, 61/2courses on the island each one has its own website where you can find green fee prices, I think Phuket Country Club is cheapest, followed by Loch Palm, Laguna, Mission Hills and then Blue Canyon. Never played Mission Hills yet and looked very young think only opened this year. Thought Phuket CC was in very good condition this year when we played. Nicke showed me a little green fee discount shop but it would be hard to find unless your taxi driver knew where it was, close to entrance of Phuket CC.

Boat lagoon has a restaurant called Watermark and Friday is happy hour and gets the locals out. Patong is 40 minutes away. You could go to Banyan tree or Blue Canyon(preferred) for golf on Tuesday's it's 1000 baht for the lakes course.

Cheers!
