I've searched the archives but got millions of hits.

I know there are plenty of massage places that give you a bit of an oil rub and a nice happy ending, but what I'm after is one of those fancy massages, with body scrubbing and lots of oils and stuff. In Patong. There are plenty of places advertised but they look pricey and I always prefer to go on recommendations.

Anyone got some goods ideas?

This sounds perfect. Pricey but I couldn't afford it in Japan.

The Amari Coral Beach has a very good one as well. I think its called the Jasmine Spa or something like that.

Can't sleep, must be excited or summink!! www.patongvilla.com/spa.htm or www.chaidee.com (Don't forget to use the English icon unless you read Japanese! It's at the Patong Villa and apparently there is a "Rich therapist you can experience!"

Theres a two hour - 700 Baht Oil massage! Sounds good! and cheaper if you take it in the morning. They call it the 'Moning Special' Pure spelling mistake there I think. Thier English is better than my Japanese.

Lots of these Spa's cropping up in hotels. Yet to try a few and see what they are like. The Chaidee is right on my door step and after my 'Moning' special (1 Hour for 200 Baht) I can dive in the pool and leave a great big oil slick on the surface! Sorted.

I am staying at the Patong Villa - they have room service and if the massager does room visits then I will never have to leave the room! I'll get Nicke to find some nice girl to send over to me with a 6 pack of beer.

One thing I like to do is have a massage on the beach although it's not very private, those crusty old ladies that walk along the beach usually give a very good massage a really need the money.

You can call me cheap, but I'll stick with C & N, the massage for a BM budget!

I go for the basic Thai massage (also known as the torture massage!). Tuk can torture me for 2 hours anytime. It hurts so good!! Seriously, it does hurt, but you walk out of there feeling like a new man!! Of course, part of the reason I am feeling so good is that it only cost me 300 Baht for 2 hours!!

The oil massage is 500 Baht for 2 hours(IIRC). They had a list on the wall of all sorts of addtional goodies for additional baht, so I think you could get your body scrubbed there, as well, but, being a budget guy, I can't say for sure since I never indulged in that. Plus I am afraid they would laugh at me if I told them I wanted to get exfoliated!!!

I'm with Jay Bee. You can spend too much. A 2 Hour Oil Massage was B600 right next to Savoie Restaurant. Ask for Nok. She's about 45 but kicks ass. Went back there at least 5 times. Prefer the oil massage over the Thai massage. Can't take the pretzel twisting.

Thanks for the tip, I'll save her for later in the trip. I get lots of spots and blemishes in the summer so a good body scrub is good for me.

The Hideaway Spa on Nanai does lots of specialist treatments....expensive though...but you can pay just 100baht and use the steam room all day
