6 weeks in paradise

I've got a 6 week break in LOS starting 28th December. I intend to have a couple of weeks in Phuket, got 1st week booked in to Expat. After that I have no real plans other than a trip (few days) to my mate's place in Chiang Rai, where I will do a visa run to Burma.

On my last visit I had 23 days in Pattaya, and did nothing but lounge in sun and spend time with the BGs. This time I want to see more resorts in Phuket, so that if I want to spend a long period of time there in future years, I'll know where I want to go.

How would you spend 6 weeks in LOS?

Pretty much what you are doing Gez. I only have a two week break this time because of work commitments etc So I am going to have to run around like a lunatic trying to look at several properties I have lined up to see with three different estate agents (They have made it easy though by picking me up and taking me to them etc) Six weeks seems like an ideal period to soak it all up and get your bearings towards making that decision (The BIG One!) 'Do I move here full-time! It takes balls to do that and you have to know you are doing the right thing. I would try two of those weeks of the six, living on the local economy and seeing how my finances are at the end of that. It may give an indication of a typical monthly budget you would need to survive out there.

I don't intend to miss out on catching a few rays, the nightlife and re-charging the batteries etc but would definately use a chunk of that six weeks in finding out if everything I have gleamed from this excellent forum is in fact going to work for me in the long run, 6 months, 6 years or the rest of my natural.
