I very rarely correct my girls use of English, and I never laugh because my Thai is non-existent so she is way ahead of me, some things do make me smile though.
Instead of 'I don't know' she will say 'I dint know', and for some reason it sounds pretty cute. Also, she refers to dumb people as 'not full bob you know?' which is so good I have adopted it.
Some words she has spot on are 'shopping', 'lottery', 'credit card' and 'no way'.

yeah, my ex Lao girl used to say "my country, not Thai" all the time, just to make sure I didn't get confused. 15 days to go!

had one from up north and when she said "you sure" sure sort of sounded like shore wuh, sounded great and i agree that as my Thai is of avery low standard i do not laugh, smile sometimes though.
In private i might say it properly to them but usually not in public unless they have rudely corrected me with my Thai. Most are happy to politely correct my Thai pronounciation and i appreciate that.

Trying to get an 'R' (as in 'Tyra') sound out of her makes us both laugh, but I try the 'DT' thing that they use and it's just as funny.

One BG said to me: u lie me? I said No. She asked again: Do you lie me? I said, no I dont lie to you.
She was very sad so I asked her why.
-You dont lie me!
Then I understand that she asked if i liked her. I said yes i like you and she was like a sun again.

All TGs know the English word, "shopping." I think it is the 1st word they learn. Although it is not a word i especially like to hear coz i know it wil cost me $, I think it is really cute the way they say it, which is not "shop-ing," as we say it, but rather "shaw-ping" with ping said much higher than the shaw part.
Of course, Thai is a tonal language. English is not, except sometimes it is when the TGs speak it!!
"Thai boxing" is the same, said "bok-sing" with high tone on the sing part! It is always funny when they exclaim, "Thai bok-sing!!", as they accompany the words with a little demonstration, a flurry of jabs and sometimes a playful kick or 2 thrown in for good measure.

Schuwah - for sure
I boxing you - when you tease them
speak thai - when they are frustrated because they cannot say it in english
you strong - for er*ction
you good heart - when they want something
dink dink - for drink or drunk
and that funny little noise they make when they are really happy about something
and after a full night together, they then wrap a towel round themselves when they get back in bed
and I bet soon as I post this I will think of another 20 things, but at least its brought a little smile to my face as I have typed this.

Sitting around at a table with me wifey1, my bro and his girl.. Mosquitos were biting our feet and ankles and his girl called them smokey toes.. So good I have kept that myself..
Then also theres the fairly common one of refering to *** when giving BJ as vitiamin (mine is sure its good for her skin and who would I be to argue).. But the 'give me vitamin' line cracks me up every time..

When l took a tg to HK last Xmas, we got out the plane at macau......and it was 10 degrees.....l did not warn her that it was going to be cold (was windy as well).....so when she got onto the tarmac.....l heard this loud........eeeeeeeeeekkkkk !!!! behind me......when we got inside the airport she was shivering and told me that is the coldest place she has ever known.
I also like that whenever you put shopping into a bag or put something away.....it's always "l backpack this, or l backpack that"
Also when l say the word crazy, it's a bit loosely used.....ie sarcasm.....but when a Thai gitls use it, it seems more serious.
The Thai boxing is a classic.....insted of just saying they feel like punching you....it's always Thai Box....555555
Even when they question you.....they don't usually ask "why", it's "why not"
Hey Paul good thread buddy

I assume you are talking about 10 degrees Celsius (centigrade?), which, if I remember the conversion formula correctly, is 50 degrees Fahrenheit. THAT'S NOT EVEN COLD! It's only a wee bit colder than shortsleeve weather.
Now if it were 10 degrees Fahrenheit, then I could understand!!
That's cold!!

Yes, centigrade.......l must admit it was even cold for me......our winters in Melb are usually 12-14 most days....might have 2 or 3 days a year when it will not hit double figures.

I was sitting outside the old "Alice Bar"(many moons ago), with my mate and the BG I been seeing for a couple of trips. She asked me to get them to play the "Toilet Song". This completely stumped me, for the next hour my mate and I ran through most of our favourites but still couldn't work this one out.
Eventually, the BG started squealing, "Toilet song, Toilet song!!!". We listened, the song playing was.........."Living Next door to Alice".
Still never worked out her thinking, but you've got to love them.

How many times did you try to explain that it is "your friend" or "his friend" and not "my friend you / my friend him" .
