Patong Map ver 2.0
Hi!
I have a new test version of my Patong map at
http://www.siammaps.com/patong/patong.html
Need Your help with testing and comments!
The new things is a much better search-function! You chose a category and get alternetivs.
All dots have a "hint-popup". And all dots should have a link to the "dots" website!
There is a overview that helps You to locate yourself!
Try the map and let me know what to improve!
And I know thats not everything is on the map!

Hi Sunem,
I think you should have more of the main streets named on the map. Bangla is easy but people might want to see how to get to Darkside or Wet Willies or other places in Patong and would like to see what roads they need to use. Just something to make it easier for Newbies, who I think will be your main users.

God point Seafox!
Problem is I can on only use a name (=streetname) once in the searchfunction!
Can be solved with a "misspelling, north/south etc). I'll think about it!
You where the first to have an opinion, so You can collect a bear at Eric's Shooters beetween 22/10-05 to 30/3-06! Ask for Claes!

I like that a lot! It did take a minute or so to load, and I am on broadband, so you might want to warn people to be patient. But fantastic, well done.

Steve, some technical bullshit!
The map is built from 1300 pieces a 2-3kB!
So it does a while to load first time You use it! But once it's loaded, it's stored in the chache-memory! So the more you use it the faster it will be! Compared to a map stored in one piece this one is much much faster!
But a warning for first-timers is a good ide!
Another beer to be collected at Shooters!

Hi Sunem
good work - keep it up. One question. If you look up Blue Residence - then it will be turn right at first Soi coming from South on Nanai. Is this true or have you not marked all the sois as they are not interesting or is it the first soi to the right? This question - of cause goes for the map in general.
TIA

Great
Hi Sunem
Thought the map was really cool and I have finally found out where the Darkside is having looked for it three nights in a row!!
My only comment, apart from its general excellence, is that the scale of the large image is quite big. Seeing the Darkside on the corner of two brown bits does not really help me locate it and I was always looking at the smaller map.
Fanatastic though. Overlay a few well known landmarks - MTB etc - and I think it will be invaluable.
Best as always
Mac

Hi Mac!
Thats alway a problem when you have points of intress in areas in less populated areas! Search for "Hasip Pee Road N" among the roads for exampel!
Doesen't say you a shit where it is on the big map! But if you look at the overview You will get an idea where it's located!
Or You can use the zoom buttons above the search function!
Hope it will be easier when I add more information, so maybee everybody have something the can relate to!

Map on PDA
Hi again Sunem,
I just tried to save your map to my Win based PDA, but it doesn't work as the browser does not support java. Anything to do? Is it possible to make a downloadable version of your map which would work on a PDA?
TIA

It's a wonderful ide to download it to a PDA, but sorry!
I have no plans for a PDA-version right know!
But who knows what will happen in the future!
Meantime, have You checked if there is a update for your browser or if you can use another browser that supports java?
For a downloadable version.... Let me think about that for a while!

The blue sky residence place is in the wrong location..
The Soi Tham Dee should be soi verakit (spelling ??) there are actually 2 soi verkits so I dont know if its 1 or 2.. Also theres a little 'tail' missing off the end of that soi (heads north again for 10m and theres a small new road been built off of it that goes behind Hillside residence..
Blue sky res is on the soi after hasip pee (mountain RD) heading north.. Also the road goes around a fair bit further and your missing a small soi after that.. The two used to lnk up but I think it went over private ground and the land owner build a wall stopping access..
Missing Soi playboy on Nanai opposite the Mae Ubon market area (might want to mark that also..
Old market rd goes a little further (but again private land owners seem to have blocked the through way to Saoi Sanbai... There a new market down there also which is probably work a mention..
Ratchapatanussom Rd extends nearly to Phisit Karonee (theres actually a rough dirt road and room for motorbike shortcut) and theres a split road (concreted this last year) that comes off of it and links up with PhisaatKaronne along the side of the klong..
Missing Road heading south off Phraa Barami Rd just east of the garage (before the school) that also goes to the klong (and theres a motorbike / unnofficial shortcut) between this and the missing road mentioned above..
I will keep thinking about it..
I hope you dont see this as complaints.. its by far the bext map of patong there is online.. Just trying to help..

No problem Mac!
Have been thinking about a "instruction" for the map, but decided not!
If people cant figure it out how it works it's a failure from start!
And real men, dont read instructions anyway!
BTW have you noticed that the dots is links! Try to click on one of the dots!
