Favoured bars
Jimmy seems to think I know shit about Patong.
Sadly a lot of things I will not share on an open forum, things that could be used against me, but as a married man with children and business, I obviously cannot let too much out for fear of it being used against me.
But for his info, some of my favourite places in Patong (you ain't getting the real regular haunts)
Amigos Soi Sea Dragon. Terry the owner is quite a character, though you don't want to do anything stupid there, especially like the poor guy who shit his pants and ended up with them framed on the wall. Best night there was the night of the bottle fight with the bar opposite....scary stuff
Sexy Nine Bar - always a good time
Parrot Bar - Soi Crocodile, (I'll never change it's name), used to be excellentuntil the sexy sister left for Germany too close to the katoeys now, so too loud and too much hassle. shame
English Bar - Just a nice quiet corner. Only bar in which I have ever bourght a drink in Soi Eric.
Play School - Only because it is so bad. If i wanna do go-go's I usually wait until I am in Bangkok. Much more fun, and thats where i do most of my play - safer.
Irish Bar - Was the first bar I did everything that one can enjoy doing in Patong. Her name was Nit and it was 1989. Stayed at the old Swiss Garden on the front at Bangla. Always try a quiet beer there for old times sake, but unfortuanelty no one ever comes up to Nit. Ah Nit!
The two bars that used to be great but are sold or gone.
Faulty Towers. Never the same without Mike and Joy.
Bounty. Just because we got drunk there so often.
I also enjoy a few nights out in Karon, more so as I get older. Haven't set foot in the Banana Disco since about 1994. These days I enjoy being at home on the week nights, or my favourite restaurant around Chalong....particularly at the front past the zoo.
Still a great place to live!
