i am thinking about coming back to phuket and patong before or just after christmas ,where are the best places to go and what is the place like ,and does anyone know any places to go for cheap accommodation.

Prices are higher at that time and it is advisable to book in advance as it is the peak season. I shopped around and got the Expat for 1490 baht a night. It has a pool and is central, close to Bangla.

Check out the hotel section on this forum, send e-mails asking for details of availablity and confirmation of prices advertised. If you want to take a guest back to the hotel room, get an e-mail stating that the hotel is guest friendly and there is no joiner fee (if possible).

it was my first time in thailand a couple of weeks ago and stayed in phuket with a couple of mates ,if i get over before new year i will be coming over by myself ,how good is it in phuket and patong at this time of year?

dont go with your mates , they will cramp your style, seriously go on your own , you will never want to return and you will not be alone for long

yeah i know ,the 2nd week i was in thailand i left my mates and was with a thai girl i had met for the rest of my holiday.I am hoping to meet up with her again if i can get in contact with her,she said i could stay with her in patong,if not i will stay in phuket again and like you said you are not on your own for long.Can't wait to go back .
