Quiet times on the forum? YES PLEASE

Hi HJ,

I suspect that the board is quiet now just due to not that many of us coming or going at the moment.
Before, during and just after Xmas was a time when many of us were taking our holidays in Thailand, so we all had things to ask, and photos to show and stories to tell.
Now I would expect it to be a bit quiet.

I dont know if your little 'head to head' with Schmeen has drove people away. I wouldnt think so.

My way of doing things is to try to keep a little peace. It would be easy to attack someone or flame them if I disagreed with some things they did/said, but I have a little bit of 'live and let live'.
From the looks of it, Nicke is also very laid back. He doesnt get invoved unless he really feels its necessary. He has been involved recently so maybe he is a bit tired and pissed off with it??

You must admit Jimmy, that over the last month, some of your posts havent really been to do with Phuket or Thailand.
There have been many duplicated photos, and the shots of ladies on the beach in Hawaii (whilst they have been rather nice ), isnt really what people on the forum come here for.

It didnt really bother me, so I dont 'attack' you. But, when Schmeen became a member (and he said he has been looking at the forum for a while as a non member), maybe he was 'brave enough' or just as strong willed as you, to speak his mind.

The whole thing has now just fallen into a "He said this to me" type argument.

I think it takes more of a man to say "Ok, we dont agree with some things, but no problem, lets not get silly".

I personally think you are man enough to be able to take some criticsm and rise above it.

Nicke is in the middle of all this. Yes, he is moderator of the forum, but we are not little children. We should be able to moderate ourselves to some degree.
Now once and for all, can we all stop this crap that has been going on. Lets keep politics out of it.
If the UK and US are world bullies or peacekeepers, it doesnt matter here, and lets just have a chill pill, and think of some of the great times we have had in LOS.

I'm the good guy here, but I'm not about to let all my generosity at Mai Thai Bar and participation on the board get run off by some Johnny Come Lately who admits to doing the things of which I stand in strong objection. If we don't put this attack on the board down there will just be more attacks.. The long time members should take back the board! I'm the good guy!
Don't let the flamer take over the board....He should have been sent away based on his early posts. sound like it's turn tale and run....If a few more blokes would stand up, insted of lay down, it will be quite in a New Your Minute.

Gents ,i have been away from the board for a little while due to illness,so i have missed all what has been going on.i do not really want to know who has said what to who and about what ever,as its history.
we are here because we love Thailand and its people.so perhaps we should take a leaf out of the thai cultre.
we may not be friends with every one,but lets adopte their attitude and just smile.

Your response is what I hoped it wouldnt be. When you say you hoped a few more blokes would stand up instead of lay down, can you think of why they didnt??? possibly because they may not agree with you.

When you started with all the stuff about America being peacekeepers of the world, I for one thought it was bollocks. OK, they are prepared to put their neck on the line and go into war, but why have they never done it in Ivory Coast, Indonesia and many many other countries which have civil war and dictators who mercilessly kill their own people?
A lot of people feel USA has a 'hidden agenda'.
Now as I have said before, people are entitled to their opinions, but when you have come on saying that the USA are the all singing, all dancing saviours of the world, you are only looking at things one way. You may quote "If it wasnt for us, you would all be goosestepping Nazis" or something similar, but USA are not the worlds favourite country.

I now realise that no matter how other peoples views are looked at, you would never change your mind. Thats ok. If I saw you tomorrow, I would be quite happy to sit and have a bloody good drink with you. Just becuase we dont agree some things, it doesnt make us enemies.
Schmeen has, to be fair, called you a few things that maybe he shouldnt, but, you did imply that his wife was 'just a bar girl' or words to that effect. It may be true, it doesnt matter and I dont know, but a one on one with Schmeen is one thing, and wild assumptions about his family are another.

Like I said before, come on, just drop this crap. I would think more of you to be able to say "OK, I for one drop this shit", than the constant back and forward of silly little word games.

Having received direct threats, a violation of the board rules, what can I do... Such an activity should be monitored but now it tis perpetuated! What can I do but rely upon my resources and know that the perps will not prevail..

As to the long list of down trodden people inthe world ....I say to that..Where is the rest of the civilized world? Wanking at the U.N. and putting Kadafy in charge of Human Rights Commission! Whats up with that....They are to busy selling war goods to Iraq!

Really nice chill out pics.

Phang nga is really nice, both on water and along the road due to it's rocks. I have been to Krabi many times, sea coneing, james bond island but not for the last two years.

Your pics reminds me why I love Thailand. I got the same feeling when I eat at any beach restaurant and watch the natural beauty here.

Time for a daytrip to Phang nha soon again, I need more holidays

Otherwise I will have to call on both of you to get together and I will personally have to beat you both back to your senses.....and believe I could easily do it.

You should understand that in this forum we only want to be all friendly (even in the thai way, if needed), and we are trying to make you understand the point of view of the non american people.

The lil prick may have cost Nicke alot of bar business for 03...Yet to be determined. I hope he plans on droping about 3k or 4k USD on bar, girls and party favors....to make up for something he caused. I think Patong, with will all the Muslims, will have severe tourist problems....
