I travel europe alot with my job so choose holidays to LOS, but if that ever becomes same same then there a lot of exciting asian countries neighboring Thailand to also visit. I would like to try South America cos the women look a little special and offer a change but just havn't bored of LOS just yet.

No. I have traveled a lot on company bills, when I was younger! Together with my wife.
Been in Africa (not SA though), Caribean, US, Australia, Indonesia, North Africa, Norway, Greece, Egypt etc.
I have maybe not seen everything I wanted. I do nOT only like Thailand for the girls, but for the athmosphere and food. Without the latter, I would not stay so much in Thailand. What I try to do more and more is to combine other destinations with Phuket. Next time, 6 days Maleysia!
It is nice to come "home" in you prefered destination, take the bike and say hello to the people you have met before!
About South America, I am sure it is an interesting country, but strangely I am not attracted...

All of my trips, except for business, are to go scuba diving. Did the Caribbean for 20 years until I moved to California. Have spent the next 15 years traveling around the Southern and Eastern Pacific and Asia. Did not get involved with the P4P scene until my Thailand trip in October 2001. The diving was really good but the P4P made it a more memorable vacation. Have been to PI 3 times in last 2 years for diving and do P4P at night. Having some fun at night just makes the trip more memorable. I would not do a P4P only vacation but definitely am going to get back to LOS for diving/P4P vacation. It will be hard for me to go somewhere like the Maldives where there is no P4P scene but the diving is great there so will go one of these days no matter what. I could always stopover in Singapore or go from Singapore to Phuket for a few days on the way home.
I have only done BKK and Phuket in LOS so have no experience with the rest of LOS.

As i feel now, LOS is the only place for me to go.
With a TGF, i have to go there so she can see her family, and i feel that i have so much more to see around the country. Havent been up north in Thailand yet, and have GF`s home in Korat to discover too...
But of course, there are many places around the world left to see, but i take LOS first.

In a nutshell; if I go on a 4 week vacation LOS is my preferred destination, but whenever I get the opportunity to travel for a couple of months, I always add at least one other destination to my itinerary.
Antarctica and the Himalayas are at the very top of my list, but that will have to wait for now. I do know that I'll be going back to Cuba, and at least one more trip (probably lots more) to Australia.
LOS is the perfect holiday destination, but I really want to see as much of the globe as possible. Not just to check it off my list, but to experience it every way possible.

My new girlfriend is from Korat, and I have to say as long as I want to live in Thailand, I dont want to meet her family. Same with my x-girlfriend for 2 years.............as long as your not a family-man, I would say, stay away from the hometowns of your gf's..........but Im just a selfish ****......

I am lucky enough to be fairly well travelled, after having spent long perids of time all over Europe and the US, North africa, hopping about.. The first time I arrived in Bali I knew asia trumped them all for me (and somehow I knew immediately I would live in Asia)..
I do have some desire to explore central and (northern) south America and would love to sail the Pacific Islands at some point in my life but even with those potions I am much more curious about Vietnam (We still on for Nov Pauley ??) and also China.. I dont quite know why the Asian bug has me (its not the girls I hope) as bad as it does but I its where stimulates me the most..

Consider
Non-LOS destinations? Let me think. Iraq has a certain, um, prehistoric simplicity about it...
But I hear rumors that there are FEMALES in other countries. Of course by the time I get out of here I may not recognize one.

Marc, i think LOS spoiled me for seeing other destinations. I have always travelled somewhere 3-4 times a year, but now all my trips are to LOS and i dont regret a minute of it. I love everything about the place and after 9 trips none of the shine has worn off for me. Living there may be a different equation... I dont regret not seeing alot of other places, and if anything i would like to see vietnam soon. I dont worry what other people think of me going to LOS all the time. I do what makes me happy!

Although I love visiting Los, I am seriously thinking about a trip to South America, It might not happen this summer as I had planned but I will be going there very soon, There is loads of places there I would like to visit, like Brazil, Cuba, Argentina and Mexico, Also I want to visit Eygpt and see the pyramids and do a tour of the US as well at some stage, Im still young so I have plenty of time (I Hope )
But I will always come back to Los and keep in contact with all the great guys I have met on this forum, And you never know by traveling to some of the other places I have always wanted too, maybe Los will appeal to me even more, We'll see...... Until then... Roll on Xmas/New Year

I went to several places such as Spain, Italy, Hungary, India, Indonesia (Bali and Java), Downunder and Mexico.
After i visited patong the first time a problem occured. When i went to Mexico i felt all the time like "man, you waste your time here you could be in LOS and have the time of your life" This was very depressing for me.
So when i visit other countries i always combine it with a finish in LOS.

I am interested mainly in Latin America and S. America. Places like Cuba, Panama, Brazil, Argentina, Ecuador and Peru.
A friend of mine just got back from a trip. He spent a month in LOS, and then flew straight to Ecuador and spent a month there. He is a LOS lover, has been there many times, but he said that he enjoyed Ecuador just as well, and that the people there reminded him of the Thai people. He had never been to Ecuador, but speaks fluent Spanish, so that helped, of course. Said people are wonderful, and many pretty girls.
Two other friends have bought property in Panama, and say they always have a great time with the girls there. A couple guys I know have been to Cuba, and like it. I also dated a girl from Peru about 6 years ago. She was really cute, hot little body, and just a great person, wonderful lover!
I really don't know if or when I will get to these places. Maybe someday. But in the meantime, it is just easy to go where I know - LOS.
I think there are several things that keep drawing me back to LOS. Number 1 is the massages. Even though I enjoy my hectic life in the US, the tenson seems to build up in my body over the year, and when I find a great masseuse in LOS, then they take all that away and make me feel like a young man again. I just don't know if I can do without that.
Number 2 is how full of fun and life the girls are, and the people, too. It' that great attitude. Sanuk!! Keep a smile on your face! Always take time to have some fun, and how important it is to look on the bright side and make the most of whatever hand you hve been dealt!
Number 3 is Buddhism, meaning the monks, and the way religion seems to be a real living part of people lives, and the relatively non-judgemental and tolerant approach to life that seems to be part of this religious philosopy in LOS.
Those are the main things, but the food, the beaches, and the friends I 've made there are important, too. I just don't know if I can get all of those things somewhere else. Sexy girls is important, but it is not enough!

Everywhere else I go I end up thinking 'jeez, I could be in Thailand now'. I do have a list of other places to see, but it's pretty short now.
I'm hoping for some more time in Oz, but only ever look at flights via Bangkok! I don't give a rat's ass that Thailand is my favourite place, nowhere else measures up and I'm going back as often as I can.
I've been a few places now, and Thailand is the only one that I have seriously considered as a place to live (Although Australia is fantastic too and would be my other choice)

Well travelled
It looks like many board members are well travelled people.
Some come for the companionship, some for the women, some for the environment, and some for all or part of the above.
Personally, I prefer South America. The culture is more "European", the music has a lot more rhythm, the women are more beautiful the architecture is more graceful and Spanish/Portuguese is a much more understandable language than Thai for an English speaker.
I was in an hotel in Brazil once and there was some sort of conference. I have never seen so many beautiful girls in the one place in all my life.
I have a lot of Colombian friends and it pisses them off no end when I tell them that, in my opinion, Brazilian women are the most beautiful in the world.
However, South America is a long way away. As a "gringo" you can be a target for kidnapping, many men carry guns, and it is even worse to get in an argument with a local Latino than getting in an argument with a Thai male.
The big thing about Thailand is that it is close, you can flash a bit of money around, the women give you a better "G/F" experience, and there are plenty of "gringos" to talk to. But, best of all, I haven't found anything to beat a Thai Beer Bar!!!!!!!!!
So, everything is a compromise and I have been forever grateful that a friend of mine once said to me: "Do you want to meet up for a beer or two in Thailand"

I have been to a few other places, PI Angeles is Ok I am just more comfortable in Thai than other Asian countries. On my second Trip to Thai, a Thai man working at the airport asked me if I had been to Thai before and when I said yes, he replied welcome home. It seemed a bit strange to me then but now I understand.
It is definitely in my plans to go to South Americas before I move to Thai to live. I have always had an interest to go there and hope to fulfil that desire one day not to soon, maybe next year for a month.

The only problem I am having with LOS and in particular Phuket and other touristic places, is that authenticity have been ruined for commercial, touristic sake.
This is happening in all the parts of the world, but Thailand is really exagerating! Thais have a very positive attitude, it is in their history that visitors must well be received.
But now the smile is $$$. Not talking about Bg's, but they are really selling their as*. for some Los-lovers, it has gone too far allready, and some are looking for other destination. Not everybody comes for the girls.
I love Green curry. Well it is challenge to find a good one in Phuket. It is made for the mass. Sweet, not spicy at all, beans in it instead of Thai aubergines, sometimes even no basil. More a soup then a refined curry.
And that is with everything. Too many construction, too many charters, but not enough palm-trees any more.
Yes it is a fun place to be. girls, smiles, almost as much as at home (do you have to go to Thailand for that?).
This time I will go to see Maleysia for 6 days, but the next time, I want to go visit "rural" Thailand, where the tourists do not go so much.

Paul,
We have talked about this and I understand, but I starting thinking to myself that some of it may have a lot to do with the amount of time spent there, it is very different to go on vacation for 3 weeks staying no longer than a week in each place then it is to stay for a month or more in one or two spots.
For me, I want to see it all...that's just the way it is for me...Yes I can always go to a place that I know and enjoy myself, but I always sit and wonder what else is out there around the next bend in the road.
I don't think I'll really ever stop looking for that perfect place, its just the explorer in me that keeps me going somewhere new, so I try to do two trips one to some place new, the other to revisit a familar place.
