Damn Google Earth
I hate it and love it at the same time. Sitting here 9 hours away looking at all the landmarks and reminiscing. Anyone else get the same feeling?
Between that and the MTB web cam it really gets me psyched to get back there. Bring on November. I'll be having 2 months in LOS.

can't get away with it myself. In fact when I look at areas I know it has towns and localities marked in the wrong place!

The place markets might be wrong but the globe markings are from sat and aerial photos.. How can they be wrong ??

I've just cut everyone off from it here! Mr Popular has just got back into town and already causing pain and grief! It's costing me an arm and a bloody leg! I have a 256K up and 2048k down-link and Google Earth is just eating bandwidth. I have allowed it on one PC for everyone to get their jollys from looking at where they work here in Baghdad, thier houses at home in the UK, South Africa, Australia etc etc (Mostly they are looking for strange unknown parked cars in front of thier houses while they are away! Funny that!!) and thier next holiday destinations. Yes, I had a sneak peak at Patong as well.
It is a Brilliant tool yes, but eats bandwidth

I just wish Patong beach (and the rest of west Phuket) could be as sharp as Kathu and Phuket Town, which is of excellent quality.
Watched my parents house yesterday and the golf course next to it, they had updated that area since I first tried to find it. So Google is improving all the time.

Seems it uses the same sat mapps.. From what I can understand its more in waypoint additions, tools for development angles, seveying site areas, that side..
Nothing I have read leads me to believe it has clearer images..

I agree. I can zero into my balcony here in Sydney. It would be great to be able to have the same detail of Bangla.
