How much do co workers know
When I first decided to go to LOS there was a brief initial thought "what will people think".Quicky I realized that if someone would judge me for what I do behind closed doors with consenting adults their opinion means nothing to me.So thats how I live.
But realisticly I work for a company of 300 and after telling a few friends the whole story, many more people get half a story, and the rest get a little bit of the story.I've had friends(married and single friends) who say they'd go to LOS in an instant but they wouldn't tell anyone they went THERE!Since I dive, whitewater kayak, race my Mustang, and carry canoes over mountains to access backcountry trout fishing people generally expect something "out there" from my vacations. For these reasons I don't think I'm labeled as purely a sex tourist but it's safe to say the rumours of P4P have made their rounds.I'm thick skinned and I don't care but maybe I should just a little???
So I'm curious about other BM's.Do you tell your co workers anything?Because this is juicy news and people love to talk word always gets around.I don't see any way to keep this a total secret(unless you're married therefore highly motivated )Mmmm even then.
Something Dodger said the other day made me consider this.A friend of his said he'd like to go to LOS but what would people think.Dodger said well what do they think of me.His reply..Well you're Dodger.I think I fall into this category.
So BM's thoughts..is this something that should be kept under wraps(almost impossible) or is a clear concious ample reason to brush it off and live how you want?I can see practical reasons for secrecy.Offended clients, future relationships with a farang girl(heaven forbid) but to be honest it's water under the bridge now for me.
I'm interested in other's stories.

To start with , I don't give a toss what anyone else thinks ,it's my life and I'll live it however I want. As to what I tell other people ,most of my friends and workmates know I come to LOS about 3 times a year. If someone asks ,out of interest ,then I will tell them some of the things I get up to. But if they are after tittilation and just want the sordid details , then I tell them it's none of their business.
My friends all know that I have a lot of mates living in LOS , and that I do a lot more out here than just drinking and going with BGs , and they accept that I will probably move out here sometime. I would never be embarressed or ashamed about my time in LOS , and if people don't like it , then F*CK them.

Hi,
I wish it would be so easy for me too. Of course my friends knows most of what´s happening in LoS, but professionally is it impossible for me to tell. I work as MD for a sourcing company in the IT-sector with approx. 170 employees, It´s better they all think I am only playing golf

Nice one Mr L,
That's what I am going to tell them next time! Why didn't I think of that! Cross-country snooker 555555
I get a lot of stick but my attitude is very much along the lines of what Faulty has to say....I don't give a toss what other people think. Once they have had thier fill of the titillation storys (Which I will gladly tell them and see them wishing it was them) they mention a certain stigma in British Society along the lines of 'You are only going there for one thing' - Let them think that, I haven't a problem with that at all. I probably do come to the LOS for one thing (Well, usually a bit more than that!!) To be honest I couldn't give a second thought to what they think.
I'm 43 (44 tomorrow by the way, just thought I would get that one in...Money and cake is good, thanks) I live my life......not anyone elses life or the life they think I should live. I will not be dictated to or ever dictate to others.
If you want to label me a 'sex tourist' go right ahead......I've had worse labels in my life believe me. My latest one is Mercenary, brilliant! Give me more, bring it on, I love it.
Enjoy what you do and who you are doing it with. Live YOUR life.

I don't hide the fact that I go to Thailand for regular shagfests, but I don't advertise it either.
I work for a company that takes diversity & inclusion very seriously; the chief executive is gay. If anyone wanted to make an issue of it, they would find themselves in very hot water.
I don't really care what they think or what they say about me after work.
In this area there are a lot of thais, and a lot of farangs with thai wives/gfs. So out of work, I don't think its a big issue.

For me Thailand is more than just the BG scene. It is true that many people think that you only go there for sex. It must be all that bad publicity Thailand got years back with pedophiles going there for sex that still keeps people prejudiced against Thailand in general.
When people ask me why I go to Thailand I simply tell them that I go for many reasons and among them are that the Thai people are so nice to be around, the food is excellent, the weather and beaches are superb and it is cheap.
Many people from my country take a two week vacation on one of the Canary Islands and spend more money on that than what I would spend in Thailand for two weeks.
Add to that all the benefits of Thailand like the good diving spots, great golf courses and plenty of other activities to keep you amused.
If people still believe I am a “sex-tourist” after that then it’s their problem. I don’t really bother try justifying anything because I know deep down that in 34 days I will be sitting in May Thai bar with a BG on my lap and they will be home in crappy Denmark wishing they were in my place

I tell my co-workers or friends whatever they want to know.
Some of them are honest enough to say: I wish i was in your shoes. Others just get strange faces when i tell them about the scene in LOS. And they are probably talking behind my back about how a dirty slob i am
And i do not give a f*ck about that, because i know theese people wold do the exact same thing as me. If they ever went to Thailand

No probs cos i'm Dodger, just spent a brilliant 48 hours doing exactly what I do. Got chatted up in a bar Thursday arranged to meet Friday and came home today 48 hours later after one hell of a weekend, went to a funeral, a party, saw 3 live bands, 13 pubs and two nightclubs, anyone that saw me just said good old dodge never changes.
My true mates I tell some of what I do in thailand and they just wish they were there with me, don't even give a thought about what everyone else thinks, we know what its like, we know why we go and what we enjoy, so feck em!

It was my department boss who introduced and asked me to go to LOS! He even accompanies me to LOS 3 times over the last 3 years (maybe just to ensure that I had been following his advice!). Even my female company managing director knows about my trips and the human resource manager is scared of contacting me during my official leave...she might and had heard strange noises on my hp There were quite a number of times when I was in Phuket that my boss called me to check on my progress Even my married co-workers had followed me a few times....so no problem.

What would your customers think though? Would it affect trade if they thought you were in the far East catching nasty diseases (not that you have, but that is how some people's minds work).

When I got back to work after my first trip, my boss asked me to give a slide show of some of my photos to my coworkers as part of a meeting. I showed a few pictures of Phi Phi Island, Kata Beach, and the waterfall I visited in Kamphaeng Phet.
After that I got a bunch of questions individually from my coworkers on the nightlife in Thailand. I don't volunteer the information, but if they ask I'll tell.
I don't think much about whether or not they are judging me. My 3 trips in 1 year is bound to make them wonder why.

They love it
I work in the hospitality industry and most of my friends and collegues are relatively young, so they can relate to what I get up to in LOS.
I dont hide the fact that there are thousands of local BG hanging to share a drink with us every time we go out. And yes the beaches and cultural sites are fantastic too.
This is a convenient holiday location..not to far from OZ and cheap too....I mean why would I bother going to Europe and/or North/South America for my holidays when it will cost me a fortune to have just as much fun as in LOS.
In a way I promote the place and can say that at least 6 people have now been there after I told them how good it is.

Just marking time till i do my first trip, (cant fly atm) but everyone i know, knows I'm headed over to LOS for a deserved break, grapevine in action.
Mixture of responses are; wish i wasn't married and going with you, eeew your going for LB's, family thinks i'll come back with a thai wife bought for 1/2 a chicken, paying for sex as you cant get normal women (that from a girl i had slept with of all things), etc etc
Probably the exact same thing everyone else here gets.
Couldnt give a monkeys what they think tbh, I intend doing the tourist thing seeing the sights and sounds, enjoying the sun sea & sand and enjoying the company of a BG if one catches my eye.
My life, I'll do what I want too ta very much.

My first trip to Thailand and co-workers
After I told some people in my office that I was going to Thailand for a month, the questions began. One guy brought in a Maxim article about Pattaya and suggested that place might be worth a side trip. The cute girl in the next office did her best to talk me into going to Fiji or Tahiti instead. When that didn't work, she sat me down and had a serious talk about always using condoms. When I finally came back to work, my boss's boss came into to talk to me, wanting to know about the nightlife. I just told him about the beaches and the good food and left it at that. The less they know, the better.
