you can get dressed up if you want but you might be a bit hot, anything goes really ...........they might have a smart casual code in the bigger disco's or hotel bars.......in the soi's a thong is all you need

No tie and so. If you are going for dinner in the more expensive places, like laguna or boathouse, maybe it is advisable to dress a bit more than T-shirt and bermuda. But that is personal, they won't refuse you

For beer bar action wear shorts and t-shirts to start, especially if you have never visited a country with a tropical climate.
1st time I went to thailand I found it too hot and it took some getting used to, but I can wear jeans at beer bars now as the heat don't bother me.

I do sometimes dress smart for Agogo bars in Pattaya, nice trousers and shirts with smart shoes but this is only because the Gogo bars have decent aircon.

Bear in mind that dressing smart propably won't make much of a difference, the way to appear handsome to bg's is by having thai baht in your pocket.

I only dress smart at times because I want to, not because I think it will make any difference to my chances of scoring at real hottie.

As maca asked a question about couples I supposed he was not comming alone to Thailand. Hence my remarks for smart dress when dining in the more expensive restaurants.

Wear what you feel comfortable in maca52.

You'll probabaly feel more comfortable in shorts and t-shirt unless you enjoy humidity and sweating.

I find wearing thin trousers ideal, then you don't get bitten by those damn mossies, or the girls as well.

i always listen to people saying you dont have to dress nice and wear what you want but i dont believe that.
do we all pay, yes. some more than others.
i like to wear nice shirts and jeans. and i do think it makes a difference. again, will i end up paying, yes
does the girl love me, no, but may be more interested and show more excitement and fun to be aqround if she finds you attractive.
again to each's own, but i think it definitely makes a difference

actually, sometimes a long button down shirt will be cooler than a t-shirt becasue it doesnt hang on you. im actually heading off to buy some cool t-shirts for my trip right now, though

Hi Marc,

I like to wear light linen jeans and 100% cotton shirts (sometimes long-depending if I am out for dinner at a smart place or not) at night which are loose but still tailored-I find this cooler + smarter to wear than shorts etc......daytime tho' shorts + a cool shirt are a must.

I know that I am not so impressed by drunk BMs wearing cut off jeans + singlet tops out at night so I doubt whether any women, BG's or otherwise would be impressed by this either..........take a look at some of the photos shot at MTB or on other threads and you will see that most BMs wear long pants + a smart shirt at night. Despite the P4P atmosphere BMs are after all still trying to impress the lassies............

I tend to take the middle road between shorts/t-shirt and dressed up. For me, that means usually a nice pair of khakis, and a polo shirt or sports shirt. But sometimes I will go with a nicely laundered and pressed t-shirt with the khakis, which can look nice, too, IMHO.
