Phuket

I'm looking at coming to Phuket again around May Next year, but i need to go to Hong Kong for a few days as well, so i thought i might do it all in th one trip.
Would it be better to just book return tickets to Phuket from Australia and then sort out flights from Phuket to hong Kong (return) at a travel agent over there, rather than book all tickets here in Australia.

A mate told me that if i bought the tickets whilst over in thailand i can get them a lot cheaper that in Australia.

Any of you guys who live in LOS, ie Nicke, Livinlos, Stevem etc have any advice on this...... I would greatly appreciate it if you could help me out.

Buy your HKT/HKG/HKT ticket in Phuket. Direct flights from Phuket to Hong Kong with Thai Orient and Dragon Air. Thai Airways via Bangkok

Is there another airline in Thailand with "Orient" in the name? If not I wouldn't fly Thai Orient-as bad as Phuket Air wrt servicing standards etc and from what I hear an accident waiting to happen.

Any airline is an accident waiting to happen, as things can and do go wrong. It has happened to the big ones, of the likes of Singapore and Qantas. As far as aviation goes, never believe what you read in the media.
