I put together a few pictures from Google Earth at:

It's a great tool, just the picture is several years old, and when will the west coast be in high res?!

Dont know but its a crying shame the west coast doesnt have the same res treatment as the east..

Great tool for explaining where things are.. Love it..

Check out Google Earth now!!

....West coast seems to have been updated, not as far down as Patong, but from the north end of Laem Sing beach to almost Sarasin bridge is now in detailed or very detailed res.

Looking good for the whole west coast to be done soon then?

Great news... C'mon google.. Sort out that last bit down to the SW...

Also they should get someone to color correct / photoshop the images a bit and uniform the color balances out..

Anyway thats just being picky.. Great that its updating..

Wow! Someone from Google reading this forum? Great, can see Mai Khao beach, the airport, Nai Yang, Naithon, Bang Tao, Surin, Laem Singh. Come on with the rest!

Well they are definitely in the area and doubt they would only do the top half knowing that the rest has not been covered. Hopefully looking at a couple of days and we will have the first higher images of Patong.

Think the images will be better up north soon as they are not quite as high res as the rest of the island (hopefully)

Also noticed that large areas of Phang Nga are covered now, Khao Lak and Ranong also.

And more...much of Phang Nga Bay too, and all kinds of other bits. As a Google Earth geek, I will be happy for days.
