Music Download sites
I've been using "Limewire" to download music in the past, but I'm wondering if there is a better one out there. I'm after the "White label" stuff, mainly issued to DJs before general release to the public.
I'm looking also for free download sites other than Google can throw up.
Any info would be appreciated.

I havent used it much lately but I used to find soulseek a good program for electronic and music in general..
For DJ mixes there is 100's and 100's of essential mixes and DJ sets on freshly mixed.. You do need to donate for access to the full archive though..

I still use Lime Wire for music but not as good as the old WinMX.
Someone recommended bittorrent/bit comet as being better.

Same with any download system..
I used to be part of a DC++ hub that traded lossless encoded audio (big files).. As it took lots longer to download they had really strict rules on ripping and encoding.. Everything had to be EAC or other bit perfect extraction and they even pissed and moaned if you didnt use thier file storage convention..
Good thing was everything was crystal clear, no pop or clicks, lossless encodes (APE or FLAC).. Even had a fair bit of 5.1 DTS and DD audio rips..

Yes, DC++ is also a very good system. A bit more complicated since you often have to provide a big share to get in to the good hubs.

Good thing about it is its private groups rather than public leechers.. So much more likely to get stuff fast..

Thanks for these LL. www.freshlymixed.com has some good mixes.
$2 50 a month to download all you want seems OK to me.

Plenty of music there then LL
An up date on using bearshare as a bittorrent site to download your music.
Its very good, but be aware that adware is very noticeable here and its wise to run "Ad-aware" after every session of downloading.
My internet security Norton reminds me its there but without allowing it access the programme doesn't work. You need to clean up afterwards.
Thats the only downside I've found.
Bearshare itself has a huge catalogue of music archives and you can download some very rare stuff I've found. I've transferred a huge amount onto the mobile phone as well and it works well. Thumbs up to bearshare and Nokia N91
