Nice to hear your house escaped undamaged....
I think firemen, doctors and even cops

are the unsung heroes.
My best friends father is a part-time fire man for the last 25+ years(Too small a place for full time).
I live in area where everyone knows each other so when he gets called out the chances are he knows them. Car crashes seem to be the main killer around here followed by fires.
He told me that garenteed every year as he sits down for xmas dinner and his pager will go off for another emergency...I asked him why he does it and he says "if i can save at least one life in my career it will have been worth it".
Last time i spoke with him in his house was the day after his niece was killed in a crash. He was 1st on the scene..She was cut in half..The guy was in tears asking me awkward questions that i could not answer....Next day i seen him he was pefectly normal as if nothing had happened...
He is always asking me to join but i could never do it....Imagine getting a call to a fire or a crash and finding one of your loved ones in pieces.
These guys have my upmost respect....(+more)...
