Riddle
At a bar in Bangkok – I don’t remember the name – a bar owner sometimes gives a riddle to there guests and if you are right, you win a beer.
So I remember to one of this riddle. I had to answer within a half minute (and quicker than the other guests):
“If you wrote all of the numbers from 300 to 400 on a piece of paper, how many times you have written the number 3?”
God thanks I wasn’t drunk – and I won the beer
Do you know the result????? :p

If you wrote all of the numbers from 3000 to 4000 on a piece of paper, how many times you have written the number 3?”

I think it is 1,300.
Ok,
Think of an english word.
It has 't' at the beginning 't' at the end, and it has 't' in the middle of it.
What is the word?

"Think of words ending in 'gry'. Angry and hungry are two of them. There are only three words in the English language. What is the third word? The word is something that everyone uses every day. If you have listened carefully, I have already told you what it is."

There are three words in the English language that end in GRY. Two are HUNGRY and ANGRY. The third one everyone uses every day and knows what it stands for. If you listened carefully, I already told you what the word is."
So, why then does this riddle continue to mystify even the hardiest puzzle-solvers? Simple! It's because the riddle itself is usually asked INCORRECTLY! The way this famous riddle is almost always told, there IS no way to answer correctly, because there is no third word that ends in "gry"! If any of your friends starts to ask you this riddle by saying, "There are three words in the English language that end in "gry" - stop them immediately - they are wrong.
The riddle was originally asked this way - and this is the correct way (and the ONLY way) to ask it:
"Think of words ending in -GRY. Angry and hungry are two of them. There are only three words in 'the English language'. What is the third word? The word is something that everyone uses every day. If you have listened carefully, I have already told you what it is."
It's a deceptive question, because the first two sentences have NOTHING to do with the actual riddle. Start off with the third sentence, and the riddle is then solvable. Here is the solution:
"There are three words in 'the English language'. What is the third word? The word is something that everyone uses every day.":
Word #1 = the
Word #2 = English
Word #3 = language
"language" is the third word.
Therefore, the answer is "language". ("language" being the third word, is a word you use every day).
Finally, we can all rest easier now.

A man? In the morning of your life you are a baby and crawl around on all fours, at midday you are an adult and walk around on two in the evening you are old and get pushed around in a wheel chair.
Or you are on holiday in Thailand - in the morning you are shagged out and hungover, and can hardly stand, by midday you've recovered and can stagger a bit, in the evening you go back to the bar and get totally legless?

the answer are:
300 to 400 = 120
3000 to 4000 = 1,300
I have one more – not new but I like it:
A man wanted to enter an exclusive club but did not know the password that was required. He waited by the door and listened.
A club member knocked on the door and the doorman said, "twelve." The member replied, "six " and was let in. A second member came to the door and the doorman said, "six." The member replied, "three" and was let in. The man thought he had heard enough and walked up to the door. The doorman said ,"ten" and the man replied, "five." But he was not let in.
What should have he said?

Hi sting
It seems you know them all and you are the "qickest"!!
A new one:
A smail is at the bottom of a 15 meter tree. He tries to reach the top. Each day, he manages to climb 4 meters, but during night, while he sleeps, he slips back 3 meters.
How many days will he need to reach the top?

Well, after 11 days, he will have climbed 11 meters, so on day 12, he will reach the top.
The only things you possess are a lighter and two ropes with the following property: they burn from end to end in exactly one hour, but they do not burn regularly. Hence, for exemple if you lit one from one end, the first half could burn in 13 minutes, the next quarter in 2 minutes and the last quarter in 43 minutes. Also, the two ropes do not have the same irregularities. The question is: how to accurately measure 45 minutes?

Hi sting
I see you like puzzles.
The answer is:
You should light at the same time one rope at both ends and the other at one end. When the first rope is fully burnt (30 minutes), light the remaining end of the other! (fully burnt in 15 minutes) :p
But I have a new one. Who knows the answer?
The following incident took place at a jousting tournament.
The Red and the Black Knight stand at opposite ends of the arena. They simultaneously spur their horses and charge. They horse of the Red Knight is slower and so they meet 60m from the nearer end of the arena missing each other. They continue galopping at full speed and turn their horses at the end of the arena (which takes equal time for both of them). Charging again this time they meet 50m from the nearer end and the Red Knight manages to lift his opponent from the saddle.
If both knights rode at constant speed, how long is the arena?

HI.
arena + 50m = 3*60m
Hence the arena is 130m long.
